Put a system together to work with the xbox 360 HD-DVD drive without the xbox. Will be hooked to my 42" plasma via svid cable. Will also be playing halo2 once I can afford to by it, for now it will be farcry. I will also be getting a DVI-HDMI cable as my tv has the HDMI input. Any other advice is appreciated. Did a test run yesterday, it works have to go get second mouse.:D

With HDMI to DVI you loose audio, if you were planning to use TV as speakers.

It will be DVI to HDMI. From vid card to TV. Using this, http://www.pccables.com/cgi-bin/orders6.cgi?action=Showitem&id=ID1758211&partno=01760&search=ADAPTER&rsite=pccables.com&rcode=

Both ways, DVI does not support audio.

I ran audio from onboard to tv. Any advice on changing resolution for game play. The HD-DVD looks great but desktop on the large screen ain't all that great.

Having a problem! I hooked up the DVI to HDMI and the picture is great, the problem is I can only see half of the icons on the left and can not see the task bar. I have tried every resolution available and the screen with taskbar missing is the closest I can find. I can not see the edge of desktop to try to pull it in some with mouse pointer. Any help here is very much appreciated.

Next problem I have is getting a wireless mouse and keyboard that will work from a distance of about 8 feet. I have a MX1000 mouse but I have to get within 4 to 5 feet for it to work correctly.

If you need a mouse thats wireless and can handle distance of one end of the living room to the other (roughly 10 feet) then i recommend you get the Logitech Black MX Revolution Wireless Laser Mouse. Not sure about keyboard as i have never used a wireless keyboard.

Also, let me get this straight... you have hooked up you XBOX360 HD-DVD drive to your computer so you can run xbox360 games of your computer? Can I ask how? Sounds interesting.
