Hello all - I have a dedicated box setup running the beta of the Windows Home Server. I currently have an X2 in it but may switch out the motherboard and put in a Q6600 with the price cuts coming up.

My question is can BOINC be run with Windows Home Server? Is there a way for BOINC to only use 1 core so I can have the other core dedicated to running all the functions of Windows Home Server?

I sure hope it can work since the WHS doesn't need a monitor, mouse or keyboard connected since I can reach it remotely with Vista.

BOINC should work with all Windows, *nix, and Mac platforms. See if you can install it and if you have any questions, just ask. Also, BOINC runs on lowest priority so when something needs those cycles, it gets out of the way. I'm not very familiar with Home Server (I never bothered to claim my beta key), so anyone trying it would be helpful, actually. Good luck.

I have BOINC running now on Windows Home Server for just about 1 day. It has submitted 2 pending results so I'll see if they go through. The benchmark seems accurate as well.
