First off, have been running for about a week now, an E6600 @ 3.6 with 4GB @800mhz on Vista64 with the 64bit 5.10.8 Boinc client. Are these numbers what i should expect on my system?

Totals:
Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) (Rank) 0:007:00:00:25 (#224,821)
Points Generated (Rank) 27,397 (#132,467)
Results Returned (Rank) 66 (#152,737)

Averages:
Avg. Run Time Per Calendar Day (y:d:h:m:s) 0:000:18:40:03
Avg. Run Time Per Result (y:d:h:m:s) 0:000:02:32:44
Avg. Points Per Hour of Run Time 163.07
Avg. Points Per Calendar Day 3,044.11
Avg. Points Per Result 415.11
Avg. Results Per Calendar Day 7.33

Secondly, on the free-DC.org stats page for the sig, the boincWCG numbers do not make sense to me, will someone be so kind as to enlighten me, as WCG status page says 27,397 points, and sig shows 3914.

Thanks, appreciate the help.

Boinc points = WCG points x 7 (not exactly 7 but close)
You want the WCG points to be displayed in your sig?

Each BOINC point is worth roughly seven WCG points. If you multiply 3914 by seven, you get 27,000+.

When the WCG project started, it was using just the UD client. It later decided to include BOINC. But BOINC uses a different scoring system. So in order to convert BOINC points into WCG points, they had to use a formula. That formula is now x7, though it's been different in the past.

Your "Avg. Points Per Calendar Day" seems a little low. But that average should increase as the weeks go by. You probably didn't have a lot of points the first few days. There's always going to be a lag because of the validation process. Validating each work unit can take a few days or longer.

On your My Grid page, you can check your "My Statistics History" (left-hand column). At some point, your daily production should start to level off.

I think looking at the avg. runtime of 19 hours, that suggests you are not running 24/7 - in which case the 3000 is probably about right for that amount of runtime.

If you are running both cores 24/7 - then as SB says, it looks a little low.

PC is on 24/7, but it is my gaming rig as well, so, while I do not snooze the client I do play games quite a bit in my free time, so I am sure it slows down the process. I am not sure if that affects the runtime. Still new to this and very new to the client, CPU usuage looks like this

I am not sure if that waveform is right. I am unfamiliar with the client and not sure if I have the settings correct.

With BOINC you should be at 100% load the entire time, unless you've changed the settings in your device profile. This is the task manager on one of my machines. I don't do any gaming, but I use this particular machine for a lot of other things.

Checking device manager it shows my Rig twice, is this the problem? How do I delete one of the rigs from the profile, do not see an option for that. I have them both set to "default" profile it seems

It's listing it twice for BOINC with the same device name? It shouldn't do that. Each device installation has to have a different name.

Found the problem, under activity was set to "run by preference" ticked the "run always" seems to have done the trick

This is what device manager shows for me

Which version of BOINC are you using? If you have 5.10.XX, the preferences set in the BOINC Manager may be overriding the settings in your device profile. To revert back to the device profile settings you need to hit Clear on each of the three preference tabs (CPU, memory, network). Then you will be able to "run based on preferences" again.

OK, what do I do about the dual devices logged with WCG, is their anything I can do or should do? Thanks for your help. I need sleep, back to work tonight, I reset all settings as you mentioned, will have a look at things when I get up.

thanks again

I'm not sure how you can fix that. You could try hitting Delete at the bottom of the device profile page. You may need to consult an administrator over at the WCG forum. So both devices are tallying points? If so, that's interesting.

You get multiple entries for the same device if you re-install Boinc from scratch, there is nothing you can do about that I'm afraid - over time it will fall off the screen.

If you haven't done a re-install and both are showing current results then there is a problem - I suspect this isn't the case though as from what I understand it would be nigh-on impossible for that to happen.

If you go to WCG>My Grid>Device Manager>Device Statistics it will tell you the date the last result was returned for each device.

Yes I did a re-install, both are however returning results, I assume due to waiting for other members to validate. Thanks for the info, I will look for it to drop.

By default, the device manager on WCG's site shows machines that have had BOINC installed in the last 7 days or returned a result in the last 14 days. So it will take 2 weeks for the old installation to disappear. But WCG maintains a record of the installation forever so your "My Grid" page will always show 2 installations. It is hoped that one day WCG will alow users to remove old installs from the database but I wouldn't hold my breath for that.
