Patriot 2x1go Pc 6400 4/4/4/12 EPP

The Patriot mark appeared a few years ago on the American market in the sector of the memory: modules reports of computers and memory flash inter alia. Established in California, Patriot is distributed in the whole world thanks to the various established wholesalers a little everywhere. The modules are manufactured exclusively in the United States. In France, the mark has much evil has to be essential considering the weak importation on close to the retailers.

Presentation always such a banal at Patriot, the Kit is certified has 400mhz 4/4/4 A 2.2v by the manufacturer and profits from Technology EPP.

Always same Heat Spreaders on the Patriot kits which are stuck directly on the Chips. While speaking about the chips, this model unfortunately has the chips famous by Patriot but has first considering it doesn't seem D9Gxx Micron but rather of Aeneon or Samsung or has lextreme rigour of bottom-of-the-range D9 (D9DPQ for example) but it seems that not.

Configuration of Test :

Intel C2D E6600 L630A938
Asus P5K Vanilla Bios 0202
2x1go Pc 6400 LLK 4/4/4 EPP Patriot
Asus 8800 GTS 640mo
OCZ ProXstream 1000w
Hitachi 250go Sata 8mo 7200tr

Test of Stability : 1xSuperpi 32mo

Cas 3.3.3.8 at 2.2v = 300Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/300c3.JPG

It doesnt like cas 3.3.3 at all, it's necessary 2.2v for him to arrive has 300mhz stable Superpi 32mo, more tension of the assistance not stabilized higher.

Cas 4.4.4.12 a 1.8v = 360Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/360c4.JPG

Cas 4.4.4.12 a 2v = 415Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/415c4.JPG

Cas 4.4.4.12 a 2.2v = 444Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/444c4.JPG

With a certification of 400mhz c4/4/4 has 2.2v, its potential is a little higher but nothing sensational, it is a kit overclockor pure but which arrives has good performances in Cas 4 with a moderate tension.

Cas 5.5.5.15 a 1.8v = 390Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/390c5.JPG

Cas 5.5.5.15 a 2v = 445Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/445c5.JPG

Cas 5.5.5.15 a 2.2v = 485Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/485c5.JPG

Case 5.5.5 is a little better than Case 4.4.4 with approximately 30 a 40mhz of better of stability under Superpi 32mo. Alas we don't have to more pass the 500mhz stable but with additional tension

Tests & Benchs of Band-Width :

We have the Software Everest 4.00 to test the Band-width (writing, reading…) as well as latency to the maximum of each case latency and various frequencies out of synchro in order to see the perfomances after the overclocking.

The test were make with a tension of 2.4v ventilated by a 120mm Noiserblocker SX1.

Cas 3.3.3.8 = 333Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/everest17-c3.JPG

Cas 4.4.4.12 = 490Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/everest13-c4.JPG

Cas 5.5.5.15 = 540Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/everest7.JPG

Impossible to have a bench 500mhz 4.4.4.12 even has nor has 550 5.5.5.15 but it offers already beautiful performance within sight of the chips entered of range of this kit.

Max Screen cas 5.5.5.15 = 545Mhz

http://www.ixtremtek.com/ixtek/Articles/Memory/Patriot/2x1goPc6400LLK/memory-545mhz.jpg

Possibility of doing a little 550Mhz but I have more the screen (corromput) but it is quasi the max in case 5 for this kit and these chips.

Conclusion :

This new kit Patriot PC 6400 4.4.4.12 EPP offers rather good performance within of the rratio price quality, for the level of the performances, one shouldn't compared with the Crucial Kit which are equipped with D9GMH!! Alas these chips are increasingly rare on the Pc5300/Pc6400 models has share some marks. For a selling price of approximately 89€ including all taxes, this kit this place Very Well on the level of the prices in Pc6400 c4 2go and proposes a guarantee has life. If you seek a kit 2go with a guarantee life has and that you aren't a overclockor in search for performances, this kit east make for you if not go your way and take models out of PC 8000/pc8500 which are equipped with very good chips (Micron D9GCT/D9GMH/D9GKX not to quote them).

I hold has to thank Damien for Intel France to have had me this kit coming from the importer Patriot France: www.xtrium.com which we also thank to have to give information to us necessary for this Presentation of the Kit.

Thank for your reading  ( Sorry for my english  )

That is bad.. My Patriot 6400 4-4-4-12 2.2V overclock better. They are with black PCB and Elpida chips
4-4-4-12 860mhz 1.95V / 940mhz max 4-4-4-12 2.25V
5-5-5-15 max 1060mhz 2.25V
Full stable with memtest86+ 1.70, S&M, Orthos, memtest (windows version).

Your set boblemagnifique is based on powerchip modules :)

I had similar pair with the same ICs and mine doing stable 515 MHz CL5 and aobut 460 MHz CL4. Crappy memory in my opinion, but Patriot guarantees 500 MHz CL5 ~ 2.2 - 2.3v :)

Ok Thank Miravo , I didnt have to think of the powerchip but it is extremely probable :)

It isnt a kit of overclockor but the price is rather good :)

I saw your Report oc on Geil, great Job  !! I also have 4x1go of Geil PC 6400 and from Black Dragon 4x2go in test in this moment, I will make a topic soon :)

Thank you :) I am going to do many reviews, because I have about ~ 30 GB various memory at home all the time :) But I prefer G.skill / Mushkin brands tests. And when I find more time I will post many interesting results, especially in terms of value, dirty chip memory :)

I had Geil Dragon Black 4x1 GB PC8500 Quad. On CAS=5 it clocked extremely well :) But I haven't got much time to do screens itp. I only took results for a review on Techworks.pl :)

I love RAM memory

Just bought a pair of those here in the US for $80 inclusive S/H.
I will check the ICs, too.
