Well, I can go above the liimit, but... well, I just want to see what I can get with $250. My current system:
Athlon XP 2100+
SLK-900u
Antec Smartfan (which I mistook for a Thermaltake Smartfan II, which I'm getting in a bit)
EpoX 8RDA+
Powercolor Radeon 9700 Non-Pro
512 MB GeiL Golden Dragon PC3200
450w Antec PSU
I built my PC for some air cooling, but I just had my bar mitzvah (boring) and got a *beep*load of money (w00t!!!). So what's some good water cooling that won't cost that mu7ch (okay, $250 is a lot, but you know what I mean.)

Oh yes, I forgot... How do I check which stepping my 2100+ is? I got it off Newegg about a month or so ago.

Dtek pro heatercore, Swiftech MCW462-UH, Eheim 1250 pump, and a MCW50 for your graphics card :rocker:
Edit----to check the stepping take off your cpu cooler and the stepping is the code on the cpu example JIUHB 0310

Thanks!
Also, I'm in no mood to take off my SLK-900, installing that thing was a pain in the ass.
Now, is there any other way to check it? wcpuid? Does anybody know which stepping they sell on Newegg?

Dtek White Water block - $65
Danner Mag 3 Pump - $45
Clearflex Tubing from McMaster Carr - $7
Swiftech MCW50 - $38
'86 Chevette h/c - $20
NB block; haven't decided, kinda anal about having a poly top like the DD Z-chip block, i wanna see if #rotor sells blocks to the US or if i can get one custom made possibly? - up to $45
= $220.. plus some fans for the heatercore plus shipping

join the crowd.
we're all newbs still.
I think, when you can make your own phase changer, design your own waterblocks, figure out voltage mods before theres a guide for it, do your own voltage mods, machine your own heads for a direct die phase change...
then do it all, to get some great OC's and score...
then your not a newb.
I guess...

Who cares what anyone calls anyone?
just get some good high numbers.
numbers here, speak louder then words.
get 25K right nowon 3dmark, and your everyones hero, haha...
I just say that, cause I think we're all newbs at something.
I personally know a ton of hardware stuff, all the specs and codes of things, and how to tweak the software to the most I can go, and scour over Bios and combinations of drivers for weeks on end...
but I suck at Phase Change info...
and need to learn alot more about volt modding.
so I am not a newb at hardware, or drivers, and 3dmark and such...
but I know zilch about making a phase changer, and only alittle about volt modding.
I still got alot to learn.
I like that.
thats why I am here at XS.
