nothing special to reach 14K i guess, well i still think its not bad for a 1700+ and a ti4200 :) no mods on the card (so far :D), except for the better air cooling.
i was extremely shocked when i started to bench, i checked my drivers and i had the nforce driver pack default vga drivers installed. 40.72 or something.
i installed my beloved 42.51 driver and got 1000!!!!! points more at the same speed
ill post a compare link tomorrow, im really tired. highest i just got was 13940 with 11.5x200 dc 2-3-3-7 310/580 and i know my memory can do 600+, but ill have to add another casefan for cooling.
14K on air whoohooo (well my nb is watercooled :p: )

19k are the top in this ranking (Ti4200). 14k mean a lot of work to do.............a lot fo hard bread (Italian way to say) :)

Talking of italians some Italian overclocker has half inched ( as we say in London ;) ) my 2001 GF4 4400 record from under my very nose whilst I was away with my new tart, FX 5200 Ultra.
A fair bit to go Saaya but you don't have to be at the top to have fun and keep whittling away :)

It depends by the type of "Italian overclockers" ;) . Not all ORB results are made by overclockers indeed (I think also by BRITISH ockers :)).

The highest with 4200 is 19306 by MrIcee himself
With the ti4400 it's 17k, i hope i could be first in ti4400+AMD. I just need 1k but it's the hardest to get

Which kind of end for british humor??? :)
The meaning of my last post is the following: I think you generalized your sentences writing the things you wrote about Italian ockers (probably you prefer showing your hardware, isn't it? ;)). In Ti4200 Category you're benching with a Ti4800 (it's not the same) with a p4 D1. Probably you should compare your results with simalr RIGs. You know, better of me I suppose, that 14k in 3D2K1 aren't so much. Again: a lot of work to do............ probably

sayaa have you tried to mix with the LOD (level of detail) that could give you alot of pts. You can do it in rivatuner. :toast:
BTW join xs irc channel #xtremesystems @ irc.quakenet.org

oh thx for the invitation :toast:
ok ill idle there, chatting on quakenet from time to time, mostly efnet lately but i think ill go back to quakenet (too many 12yo wannabe hacks on efnet :D)
but no, i wont mess with the LOD settings... i want to meassure real performence, im now benching at speeds beyond of what i can do 24/7, but im going to watercool my gfx card and cpu soon so those speeds will be stable then and ill reach better scores.
of course im trying top get the highest score, but i dont want to get it by any softwaremods. only hardware mods, but plenty of them :D

I'm beating people with better comps than me in 3dmark2k1, it's only because i use rivatuner and i'm learning how to use it

I'm benching using the 4800SE because that is what Futuremark mark it down as , other people say it is a 4400 with x8AGP..what is the difference between a 4800SE core and 4200ti core that it gives it an advantage ?
I only said one thing about Italian overclockers and that was someone beat my record, not a generalisation.
I didn't suspect the Spanish Inquisition :)

4800se is a 4400 with agp8x, not a 4200 with agp8x. 4200cards have worse memory and a cheaper pcb design.

saaya wanna race? I got a new 1700+ in the mail today and a new nf7 tomorrow.
I have an old ti4200 lying around. it's not agp 8x and has crappy mem, but I think It should be good for at least 14k with some tweaking.
What do you say? :p
edit: typo's
saaya
06-25-2003, 08:06 AM
:D sure, my 4200 has some really crappy mem too, well actually it ocs ok, but its getting so extremely hot... i think it would die with just 5% more voltage :p:
ill watercool it or maybe even pelt it with a bunch of 30W pelts i have for some months now.
right now the weather in germany is getting worse, so temps drop and the clockspeeds rise again :)
maybe youll have to wait for some days before i get my gfx waterblock.
definately use the 42.51 man! best 4200 detonator so far.
if the benchmark locks for some seconds, stops or the fps go down your core is overheating. i use a huge alpha cpu heatsink right now as you can see in my thread in the liquid cooling section. you can drop temps a lot if you make the heatsink wet! be carefull though since the water could fry your card if you take too much :D
well it gave me 5mhz extra on the core, i think the limiting factor is the gpu voltage. im on vacation for 6 weeks so ill have a lot of time for all sort of mods :)

And i got 16507 points once but I couldn't publish it...
