It was fun while it lasted.. Hopefully ppl start purchasing now before pricing starts going up by 30-40%

I'm not seeing these purported increases on Newegg.

Beyond that, i just ordered 4GB of the ballistix - found for just $125 a pair after rebates. They better not cut me off. Else, the forum :banana::banana::banana:s begin, that, and won't my fellow canuck geeks say :banana::banana::banana: ncix for screwing us?

Ballistix PC8000s at Mwave have gone up from $114 last week to $128 currently.

It may be the start of something bad for those wanting to build a new rig.

Of course, if you bought in on every deal over the last two months and you have an inventory that rivals newegg, then you might just be smiling right about now.

Never bought G.Skill before but it's good stuff and plays nicely with my older sticks of DDR800 Corsair XMS.

I would say that now is the time to buy if you have been thinking of upgrading.

I just picked up 4x1 gskill HZ's. I'm going to use two on my new machine. When I find a nice deal on vistax64 I'll add the other two.

Why are memory prices so volatile? How could they drop so fast just to rise again?

Mainly because they had over stocked for Windows Vista release and they've been trying to sell the overstock. It looks like stocks are stabilizing and prices may rise again.

Correction to my post...

Yes, they went up in price, but then they added a $40 MIR, so the net cost is $88, plus shipping.

I guess that Mwave hasn't heard about the pending price increases yet. :D
