2.4C

GEIL Golden Dragon 3500

Note, I'm not saying it won't work or whatever, I just want to know if anyone have these workign together, so I can feel better about buying this ram for my cpu and mobo.

I would wait until the results are in from this thread. Should only be another day or two and we should see what the fuss is all about with the Golden Dragon :)

Actually Major, I found a thread with someone at [H] that has a 2.4C, IC7, and GEIL Golden Dragon 3500 DDR @ VERY high timings stable.

Looks like my quest for new ram has found something good. :toast:

'just got my geil golden dragon pc3500 and this stuff surprised me on how well it performed, i can get it up to 240fsb, with 2.8v (ran 24hours of memtest w/o errors) if this board gave more voltage the sticks would definitely go higher. it likes loose timings tho (2.5,3,3,7) but that could be my board being a picky pain in the ass again'

His specs are:

Abit IC7 875P w/P4 2.4c @ 3.38ghz (281fsb) w/MCX4000
2 x 256mb GeIL Golden Dragon PC3500 (DDR450)
Xtasy Ti4600 @ 310/715
Audigy X-Gamer
2x WD 80GB SE in Raid 0
Plextor 40x CD-RW & Pioneer 16x DVD
18.1" Mistubishi NX85 LCD & Personally modded Noblesse Case

My XMS3200 (not LL, just regular CAS2 stuff) is pulling 210 (420) on my "old" KT333... hehe

My XMS 3200C2 (Black Heatspreader) Ver 1.2, is very wierd on this IC7 let me tell you.

For one, it's currently at 264 mhz FSB @ a 5:4 ratio, @ 2/6/3/2 just fine at 2.8V.

What it doesn't do, however, is allow me to go lower. Yeah, go figure. My cpu was tested working up to 290 so far with a generic stick of ram, so it's not the cpu. The max both sticks can do together is 264. I tried a 3:2 ratio at relaxed timings at 280 mhz FSB and it's a no go. BEEP BEEP BEEP.

240fsb @2.8v with 2.5,3,3,7? twinmos 3700 can do that and its much cheaper afaik. about 80€ ~100$
