HI, i was reading in head fi how to setup a dual soundcard system, one card for music, etc and other for games, for music my card is pretty good, but for games it has no hardware acceleration.
As I have nforce2 soundstorm onboard, enabling it will I get hardware accelerated audio and that kind of things?or just software like the aureon (I have it modded to prodigy 7.1)?
I google about it,but could get a good concluison...
If anyone knows a site where it show fps between a software "accelerated" game and an hardware accelerated game plz post..

Sure, you can run a dual card setup I do. It will be up to you how you connect it up and use the two.. I will help if I can.

yes I know, but the thing is,will I get hardware acceleration with the soundstorm?
I am thinking about connecting the case headphone input on the board and when I do some gaming plug the headphones in the case,or if I want 5.1 plug the speakers in the board..

edit: guess I found my answer here (http://www.nvnews.net/reviews/nforce2/page_5.shtml)
if it is better than a sb live,it will be better thna my "prodigy" because the envy24 doesn't have hardware accelereation

The best way to go IMO is an X-Fi variant with the mods in the link below. It simply blows away any sub-$1000 card i've heard with my Sennheiser HD580's and Antique Sound Labs MG-Head OTL tube amp.

If you are talking about using the Velbac application to link the cards. Forget it, as you need a Creative labs card for the primary card. I am not sure if the Soundstorm offers anything in the way of hardware acceleration.
My audio system for example has a Audigy 2 and a X-Meridian 7.1 and using Velbac to link the cards internally I have full features of both cards. I have everything so integrated now I hardly even notice anymore. Games are automatically routed through the Audigy 2 -> X-Meridian and music and movies go through the X-meridian only. You want something similar to this type of setup?

more a less that thing...I am not an hardcore gamer, but since I have the soundstorm I could have it for games and the prodigy for the rest...
In head fi I saw that I could do this just with windows..
as in winamp you an select the soundcard,in skype too,for games it will be the soundstorm..am I forgetting something?
here's my post @head fi (http://www.head-fi.org/forums/showthread.php?t=244287)

more or less...What you do is set the default audio device in the control panel to your soundstorm. Then set all other audio and video players to use your other card. The soundstorm isn't really considered a "gamer" type device either.
You may want to check out cheaper A2's or A4's...etc..

I am not thinking in wasting more money in this pc,I had an a2zs,but the drivers were too heavy for my taste so sold it :P
I hooked up the line out of the soundstorm into the line in of the aureon and it done what you said..I think it is working..
thanks =)
edit:I have seen some really cheap audigy 2,maybe I'll get one..can you give the link to download velbac?because in it's page I can't find it

Here is Tril's main page, the link is on the bottom. IT is currently being developed for Vista. It works in XP. Hope that helps.

thanks..asap I'll try to get an a2..but only when they get about 10/15eur here :P people want about 30eur for an audigy 2zs..it's pretty dull for me to pay that for that card when I paid 35 for my terratec and when a year or more a go I sold my a2zs for that price..lol
for now the onbaord is pretty cool =)
I'll ask a friend of mine ot do a cable that link the 5.1 of the onboard to my line in..
