Asus P5K Deluxe - 2x1GB OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC Revisited
With my Asus P5K Deluxe flashed from 0307 beta bios to 0311 official bios, I thought it would be time to revisit an old friend, 2x1GB OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC (http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=3824) :D

Past results
This pair of 2x1GB OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC (http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=3824) has been tested on Asus P5B Deluxe and Asus 680i Striker Extreme and had found to be more optimised for 5-5-5-x and 5-5-4-x timings and didn't do too high in the 4-4-4-x stakes topping out around 540mhz 4-4-4-x and 600mhz 5-5-4-5 at 2.45v on Asus P5B Deluxe and 650mhz 5-5-5-18 at 2.55v on Asus 680i Striker Extreme and needed medium to loose sub timings especially in 4-4-4-x overclocking.
Asus P5K Deluxe results
My preliminary memtest86+ v1.70 tests with this 2x1GB OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC (http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=3824) were amazing on Asus P5K Deluxe. On Asus P5B Deluxe this memory didn't like tight sub timings and had to be loosened up to clock up. But, on Asus P5K Deluxe with 0311 official bios, the memory handled very tight sub timings of 3-30-3-3-3 without problems - signs of good performance regardless of main 4 timings to some extent :) However, the memory still behaved the same way as on Asus P5B Deluxe and Asus 680i Striker Extreme, only liking high clocks at 5-5-5-x or 5-5-4-x timings. I have yet to test the memory in 4-4-4-x main timings yet but will get around to that.

@600mhz 5-5-5-9 at 2.35v
0311 official bios seems to have also improved quad core max FSB. Before on 0307 bios my Q6600 did upto 470FSB before it needed CPU PLL volts raised from 1.5v to 1.6v for 485FSB max. Now first test @480FSB was solid with CPU PLL volts at 1.5v without needing any more voltage :)

OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC @490Mhz 4-4-4-9
Now I'm truly getting the hang of tweaking Asus P5K Deluxe with OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC memory. Below is probably one of the fastest single 32M runs at 1:1 for 7x490FSB 4-4-4-9 settings.
Note, Kentsfield B3 stepping cpus are clock for clock slower in single instance Super Pi benchmarks compared with Core 2 Duo dual core B2 stepping cpus.
Also, 0311 Official bios increased my Q6600 Kentsfield cpu's max FSB from 485FSB to 490FSB without needing to raise CPU PLL volts from 1.5v to 1.6v as I needed on 0307 beta bios. With 0311 official bios and my Q6600 I've managed to sometimes boot into memtest @7x500FSB but on exiting bios, it doesn't boot up and needs power reset to get back into bios. So still working at it but already an improvement over 0307 beta bios :)

Since I had RMA'd my Crucial Ballistix PC2 8500 I made a list that I would buy to replace them. I selected from Newegg these 2GB OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC hoping they would work with my P5KD. I was extremely happy to find that I didn't make a mistake.;)

CAS4 Performance
It seems testing OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC's CAS4 performance on Asus P5K Deluxe is about the same as on Asus P5B Deluxe, hitting a ceiling around 540Mhz 4-4-4x at 2.45v. But, the difference is that on Asus P5B Deluxe, it required very loose sub timings. On Asus P5K Deluxe it was totally different, I could run very very tight sub timings @540Mhz 4-4-4-9 2-25-2-2-8 at 2.45v and it really showed in the Everest Ultimate reported bandwidth and latency and also in single Super Pi 32M time for a quad core, Q6600 B3 cpu.

hehe my full images are smaller in actual file size than most folks single screen thumbnails... look at the image sizes ;)
But yeah you're mouse wheel get's a work out - will see what i can do about future images :)

i know, im not worried about the image sizes, i know you got those tweaked :D
the thing is reading this thread is like sitting 2meters away from the projection wall in a huge cinema :D
lets say i only want to see the everest shots, i still have to go through all the other shots in full res and scroll around while the images jump down all the time the next one was loaded.

eva2000,
I was looking for a way to verify my new OCZ PC2-9200 Flex XLC DDR2-1150 memory so I decide to use the method found at your link as a guide:
http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?p=62368#post62368
Here's one of several tests from the above link:
2.300v = PC2-1151 5-5-5-18 5-22-6-8-Auto-7-42-Auto = PASSED
Shouldn't these PC2s be DDR2s? Anyway I've installed my OCZ Flex XLC in the black slots and will post my results when I get them. Thanks for the all the great work.

whoops fixed that up to DDR2- hehe
Yeah i have to retest all my memory in black dimm slots on P5K Deluxe including these 9200 FlexXLCs :)

Yeah i have to retest all my memory in black dimm slots on P5K Deluxe including these 9200 FlexXLCs :)
While testing my 9200 Flex XLCs this is where I got my first failure. I started with the sub timings of 6-42-11-11-11 because that's what is listed on OCZs web site for P965 and I believe it was on there forum that they answered a P35 user's question by saying that would be a good place to start. I'm planning on testing 3-30-3-3-3 but I see that you already have had success with 5-5-5-9 3-30-3-3-6 at DDR2-1200.
· 2.30v = 400FSB DDR2-1200 5-5-5-18 6-42-11-11-11 = Failed, Test #5 – 2 errors on pass 7 – 2 errors on pass 10.
· 2.35v = 400FSB DDR2-1200 5-5-5-18 6-42-11-11-11 = Passed
I raised the DRAM Voltage to 2.35v and it passed. I noticed that in your previous tests you went as high as 2.55v.:rolleyes: I'm not yet comfortable with going any higher than 2.35v. What advise would you give me on this?
Before I bought these 9200 Flex XLCs I was going to purchase the OCZs OCZTXTCC Memory Cooler. There's no way that cooler would fit over these modules. I hope the option to run them passively works as I don't know if I want to water cool them.:D

high vdimm for benching only.. never 24/7 ;)
Use what you're comfortable with... i prefer 2.1-2.25v vdimm and lower clocks for 24/7 but what ever main 4 timings I use, I prefer very tight sub timings since that is where the performance is and what separates one set of memory modules to another :)
You may find even at lower than 600mhz clocks if you have tighter sub timings that you have better performance than high clocks and loose timings :)

eva2000, I noticed that on your i4memory.com forum for this thread you have resized all the photos as in the attachment below. Is this a feature that is unique to your forum and if not how can this be done on the XtremeSystems Forums?
Although I like to exercise my wheel mouse finger, I do like this technique.:up:

@Eva
Are you going to re-test these ram in the black slots? I remember reading somewhere you did all the testing in the yellow ones..so I was wondering if you are going to re-test these. I have exactly the same setup..but I have to wait 2 more weeks before i can do some testing... :(

resize images feature on my forums is a plugin for vB 3.6.x from vbulletin.org you can install on vB 3.6.x forums :)
lucas81, i haven't had time to retest in black slots.. but if i do get around to it I'll post the results.
