Someone asked for pictures in my other thread so I figured I would take a few pics and start up a new thread. Here are the pics of the Uni-Sink:

my question is if this will work with the MCW60 block i already have :D
Its a beautiful heatsink. My only problem is their thinking behind the hot ramdac area.. why did they make the vreg area so beefy and the ramdac area so "limpgawd" [H] wimpy .. ?

well, i saw a post of a heatsink resembling this one in the first uni-sink thread. it was on the MSI watercooled card. im wondering if this is not the exact same sink just anodized black instead of gold. maybe they contacted the vendor?
Mr. Corvette C6, is yours a Z06 ?

sadly no. :( it is however at least a Z51, MN6, 1SB. :) basically all it doesnt have is the clear top and the nav. but hey, im never lost and i can buy a clear top! :D

have to agree with you on this... also i would have liked if d-tek would include
info on what that thing is made of ???
only thing that is said on there web site that it's a "Lightweight Construction" so im guessing it's made from aluminum ??

I'm glad for you. Sorry, I'm not up to speed with the Corvette, being a Porsche guy myself. All I know is that the Z06 is ferocious past 100 mph. So, from what I understand, you do have the mechanics of a Z06 ! My favorite past time is challenging Z06es :)

its looks/feels just like regular anodized aluminum.
Its not as though an alumimum heatsink is bad and cannot do the job properly :)

you either have a really expensive porsche or a heavily modded porsche to pose a challenge to a Z06.
oh, and i just have the LS2 engine with the same tranmissions as the Z06. also a beefed up suspension. i thought about getting a Z06 last year, but I just have too many other expenses right now with my house, so it will have to wait a while. :(

It can hold its own ground until about 110 mph .. actually from 40 to 80, its unequalled... :) I also head for the twisties to level the playing field hehehe... otherwise, I would be Z06 minced meat :) No.. its not modified. Its a stock car.

haha.. 997TT awd regular transmission.. till the middle of next year... and then it'll be swapped.. for a GT2... don't know yet if they will have a tiptronic available.

and then a middle aged asian person will pull up next to you in one of these:

And make you think twice of japanese design :yepp:
Which is suposed to come out Q4 this year. Thats the offical skyline GTR, with twin turbo stock, AWD.
"All of which should be good for a 0-60 miles-per-hour time of well under 4 seconds, and a top speed somewhere on the ambitious end of 180 mph."
:D
Thank god im not married. :P
This is the only thing im looking forward to more then my dual yorkie rig. :D
But sorry for the OT: Yeah im waiting on the performance reviews on that unisink. I may decide to add it on my sli 8900, if they ever come out.

If I do end up buying the 8800, then I'd probably get this unisink and modify it so that either:
a) I just cut off the section for the "ramdac/shader clock core/whatever it really is" and stick the biggest heatsink I can find on it instead.
b) Perma glue (via artic silver cement thing) the biggest heatsink that will fit to the "ramdac" section of the unisink.
I think the biggest advantage of the unisink is that I wont have to worry about "omg my ram sinks aren't sticking"...
Any thoughts on my thoughts?

I doubt it, they did this for the 8800 since it has so many things that need to cooled. With the 7900GTX you only need a pack of ramsinks. My guess is they will make a Uni-sink for the GTS and the HD2900Xt.

Bah.. not impressed :) The Japanese design I want is on my plate of fish for dinner :)
That Japanese nightmare better do north of 320 km/h before touching a GT2, never mind a Carerra GT :) You gotta do sub 3.5 seconds before its a threat :)
And at the end of the day... its a N-I-S-S-A-N :) Park that and a Porsche/Ferrari at a mall and let's see which car the hot chix gets into :)
OOOooo.. can't wait for a ride in your Nissan/Subaru/Mitsubishi... just doesn't sound right :D
And thank God I'm married... because I wouldn't be able to drive nice cars if I weren't married :D And the wife's getting even faster wheels lol :)
I knew this super rich guy who lived in a mansion, and when he was in college, he had 3 cars to himself, a subaru wrx impreza, a 1977 corolla, and a datsun with a broken axle ROFL. He didn't need to get a very expensive car to spend lots of money, he hit the gas super hard frequently, and raced old mustangs driven by fellow crazy college kids when he had the chance :P Once he was like "hey I got some new tires and brakes, lemme test them out", he pressed the gas pedal down until he was going at some insane speed ON A HIGHWAY EXIT WITH A SHARP TURN, and I swear I could've SEEN the needle on the thingy that tells you how much gas you have DROP for some crazy reason... So he's going like 100 mph then he hits the brakes super hard and there's a screeching noise. :shakes: you can probably tell, he filled up his tank VERY frequently and remember this car uses PLUS fuel

Iany, the SKLYLINE was known to take down porshes as well as lambo's and ferrari's on the german autoban. >.<
I believe apex's street drag model has well over 950BHP. And its known to eat kawasaki ninja's for breakfast. :P
I hope thats fast enough for you.
Now if you go GT2 style, which is north of the 100k. Just drop in a Blitz intercooler, with a blitz tubro timer. And i think it might run circles around a GT2. :P
heh, only way to find out for sure is pull up next to one when they come out. Chances are no one bought that car to drive it like a gramps. So if you run your engine, im sure he will run his.
lets see a porshe do this fixed up even:

@OP
My friend who works for nissan in product and management said i should save up somewhere north of 70k if i want this car. And she also told me be prepared to drop a lot on desposit or i'll have to wait a few months. :P
But anyhow... once again sorry for the hijack thread op, we got into our other toys. ahhahahahaha... lets get back to the other important one which is relavant. Any results yet?

Is that uni sink for the Nvidia 8 Series cards? Do tell how well it works.
On the big thing on cars, Here is a porsche that can take on most tuned import whatevers.
http://www.supercars.net/pitlane/pics/430244a.jpg
802HP and 2766lb of weight
But one shouldn't compare tuned cars to stock cars. Or better yet cars that are out to cars that aren't. BTW There is a more powerful vette on the horizon, rumors put it at 700+HP, but also over $100k
The new world record is 1,054 bhp for a street legal car, Jurgen Alzen Motorsport, long-time partner of H&R in the long-distance championship on the Nurburgring, engine tuner RS Tuning and H&R have jointly developed a sports car based on the Porsche 997. It has won the Blue Ribbon for the world's fastest street-legal sports car, with a top speed of more than 260+ mph (430+ km/h). That's faster than the Veyron. Don't compare a stock factory car to a modified car.
I'm afraid the Nurburgring top 25 hall of fame doesn't include a Skyline :) I see a regular 997TT in 23rd and a Corvette Z06 in 22nd. A whole lot of supercars above that. You got to be dreaming about a Skyline even matching a Pagani Zonda, Carerra GT, McLaren SLR, or Ford GT on the autobahn.. Every manufacturer in the world, even the Italians (unsuccessfully), frantically want to rule Nurburgring. I would like to believe that Pagani is Italian, but its really a Mercedes.

Hockenheim Short Track is even worse (Hockenheim has long straight aways). Nissan isn't in the top 100.
These are the world's top racing circuits.
http://www.fastestlaps.com/track7.html
Here's the lap record for Suzuka :) Ferrari, Ferrari, Porsche, Porsche... where is Nissan :)
http://www.fastestlaps.com/track4.html
Here's the lap record for Tsukuba :) Porsche, Ferrari, Ferrari, Lamborghini :)

Here's the lap record for Sugo :) Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche :)

I would just epoxy a matching black heatsink from Radioshack onto the RAMDAC flat part.
Thanks for posting the pics like I asked.

Anyhow lets stop with the thread jacking and continue onto the op's thread. Any results yet?
Are those pads on the bottom of the heatink stcky pads, therefore making removal more hazardous if i want to take the Unisink off again later ??

I'm also curious about this. Guess I'll know when I receive mine.

I think he is asking whether or not they are doublesided thermal tape or just thermal pads. If it was thermal tape it would be a horrible time getting the thing back off again.

Right. Message fixed, thanks. :p:
that heatsink is just begging for some go faster stripes
I just pulled back the protective covering on one of mine. It is not tape.
