Anybody has a x-fi that DOES SOUND in this OS?

Theoretically XP drivers work, but in my case after reboot some program of the drivers crashed and I havent been able to reinstall any version of x-fi drivers.
Windows tells me at evety boot that a device driver failed to load (i bet!). I tried editing the registry and deleting the files in system, but there is never everything. I'm open to suggestions and to know of a version of drivers that work for future use.

I could upgrade to SP2, but I dunno if this would help.

I'll be testing some things with W2k3 in the following week, I'll report back as soon as I have something ;)

I managed to uninstall the x-fi drivers and to clean the registry manually (only legacy components keep some creative data, but those cannot be deleted).

I have SP2 now and all updates are installed. So please install SP2 too.
Following these tips (like i did years ago)

2k3 server is a wonderful OS (surely better than XP). I planned to use it only temporarily on this system because I needed Dell array manager, but I'm planning to keep it :)

I'm wondering if i should manually delete the creative files (I did that once but it didnt help -I just got a message from 2k3 that a driver failed loading :) ).

Before further tries I'm gonna make a restore point :)
