Just when 3dMark finishes the 2nd test and about to start the 3rd test (CPU Test) I get the following error..

I've searched around, but aside from the specific error ie. DX9 has lost the device, nobody seems to have nailed it to anything for 3dmark06. This happens at stock clocks also.

Card is X1900XT. Water cooled. Stable in BF2, folding etc etc. OS is Winxp Pro.

Any ideas are welcome. I remmber i used to get this on a X800XT PE and I can't recall what I did with the problem.

I'm gonna hazard a guess and say that something in the background is grabbing the X1900XT by the bnawls and saying... 'uh uh no res change for you mate' :)

I haven't yet van. But I may in the future. Thge problem may be fixed from a reinstall, but it would be nice to find out what.

This evening I will run 3DMARK with as many backgroud items closed as possible in a step order fashion to isolate which app may be causing it.

yeah, try closing all the background programs and just run 06. if that dosent work i'd reinstall.

Ya it was something in the background. i didn't have time to isolate it. Just used 'Enditall' to blitz the process list. I reinstalled subsequently and it works now.

Oh. and a nice score on HWBOT to boot... well for a X1900XT 256MB anyways. :hehe:
