View Full Version : Lowest SS temps?

I have been absent from the forums for the last couple of months. My chiller from NoL has been running 24/7 since I got it. Doing about 3.8ghz at 1.6vcore and -32c full load. Any advances since then? What's the best SS temps at load you are able to achieve these days?
What ya up to these days, NoL? Is it upgrade time yet?
I seem to see a few advances in evap machining.

how abot sayinfg the cpu you have.. as you could have a celly@3.8 ghz or a kents at the same freq :D

He's on a QX6700 I beleive. So quite a damn heat load.
I'm currently up to a few builds, and moving to a more Cryo-z like build for low cost, but other then that, just dealing with some problems on a big ass rotary 3/4hp quad core build, and playing around with other options.

Poitress is about too i think set some silly low temp for a SS. Mind it's all vacume i belive

CO2 sublimates @-80 so even if evap has dry ice in it getting there should be easy with no load.

He does not use co2. Hes a helium cascade builder and has access to many gases.

Theres no way he can be condensing helium with a SS.

Besides my Benching SS can reach -86.8c unloaded and thats only with a 1/2hp rotary:D

unloaded temperatures mean absoulutly NOTHING

Helium is worthless as a refrigerant thanks to it's low latent heat of vaporization. Yes, it works good for worthless no load temperatures, but it loses it's temperature as soon as a relatively small load is put on it.

doubt it's any good to any one here as its no good unless you can condense it.:shakes:

did you know helium heats up on expansion! It has what is called an inversion temp, and unless you get it first to its inversion temp it will heat up your system, Thus it can be used much like a transcriticle CO2 cycle.

I have seen direct acting helium cooling schematics for a type of MRI system, I think they may have even been on RE.com
