I searched and I didn't find anything about this, so what the hell ;)

The main advantages of the DDR3 technology over the current DDR2 technology are the higher frequencies it allows for and we've already reported about how several manufacturers have launched DDR3-1333 modules. The DDR3 technology will reach 1600MHz pretty soon, but that is far from what the technology is capable of. Overclocker "david" has been able to push a 1GB DDR3-1333 module from Micron to 2200MHz, a new world record and it clearly shows the overclocking potential of the DDR3 circuits on the market.

The information about the new world record comes from the motherboard manufacturer Gigabyte, whose P35T-DQ6 motherboard was used to reach the high frequency. The results has been verified at x86-secret.com. The memory was from Micron and was overclocked in a single channel setup with 10-10-10-24 latencies. The processor was a Core 2 Duo E6850 that was overclocked to 3.89GHz and a 550MHz processor bus.

That is just sick!

Great, it means Microns will still be great for OCing. I hope other manufacturers also make some well clocking chips, something of D9 significancy.

P35's mem controller can do 2200 already? DAMN! We all know DDR3 will be fast, but I never imagined that the first gen memory controller could clock so well too.

10-10-10-24 in single channel?

and at these prices: http://www.alternate.de/html/shop/productListing4C.html?cat1=22&cat2=364&cat3=0&&tgid=223&treeName=HARDWARE&Level1=Arbeitsspeicher&Level2=DDR3&Level3=DDR3-1066+&

I'll wait for it to mature a bit...

How does that bus speed do for benches?

very impressive oc but with the expense of latence timings.
chect these specs out:

I'll wait for current DDR2 prices. I'm poor.... :(

Nice but latency should be similar to DDR2 @ 555Mhz 5-5-5 :)

I hear you. My last upgrade was from a 478 cpu to the 775. Tells you how long it took me to save up for it.

yeah i do, my point is that wouldn't you want to have ddr3 that is something like 5.5.5.10 1333 ... i would, rather than ridiculous 9-9-9-26.

who the hell is this guy David

i'm sorry but we all know CPUz files can easily be manipulated

can someone reliable finally test some decent RAM around here please

and we all wish a DDR2 with 2-2-2-x

dude, wishing is something and real facts and performance is something else

yeah i hear you..that would be awesome.. but ddr3 is it even possible to make modules that would me something like 5.5.5.10 (for example) or is there some sort of technical barriers that just cant be crossed .. could some one that knows something about how rams are being manufactured share some insight in the actual manufacturing process??? i for one would me very interested.

For example, 2200 MHz CL9 memory has a lower access latency than one with 1000 MHz CL4 - and a MUCH higher bandwith.

Effective memory latency cannot be reduced much further with the currently used memory module design (meaning the phyical modular concept far away from the memory controller).
But it is possible to increase bandwith.

you guys didnt read his posts, hes not saying 999 timings suck, hes saying 1066 999 sucks as there are ddr3 1066 555 sticks

But it kind of does, cause by the time the price is so you can push volts through not really caring about it to reach ddr3 1600 timings 555 or 666, we'll probably see next generation ddr sdram.
I know today that i wont pay for ddr2 800 timings 322

We need all-in-one cpu before timings is a thing of the past
