Hi,

Need some advice, I've got a Vapo XE and it was running an opteron 146 @ 3 gig no problems, the chill control displayed -29. Now i have upgraded and gone for a QX6700 will i still be able to use the same vapo?

The Vapo has only had one mod done to it and thats to get it running off 2 power supplies, one for the condenser and one for the rest of the machine.

I was just worried that going from 1 core to 4 might cause problems in removing the heat from the chip. Don't think it was design for it. What do you think? I'm currently running the QX6700 on the stock Intel heatsink and i'm getting pretty p****d off with it! I forgot how loud air can be!

Any suggestions welcome...

Cheers.

Aint going to happen i'll be honest. Contact Gray Mole. He is the UK main guy behind the cooling of Quads and psoted loads here.

If you want a unit fast i belive www.chilledpc.co.uk can sort you out in a week or so. Tom is the guy you need to speak to there.

It'll be a custom unit no matter what sadly!

you can have people "mod" it for you, by re-tunning it or maybe swapping compressors. Not hard to do, nothing serious, but something needs to be done.

I'd look into having the unit slightly modified to handle a quad-core load. Currently it'd keel over and die with you threw a serious quad-core load at it. With a slight trim of the captube, soldering the captube to subcool, and maybe a compressor upgrade and you'll be straight. As said above, get in touch with Gray Mole, he'll get you set up.

Xe Vapochill wont hold a quad mate...its only a 12v Bd50f compressor .Tiny

My sons Xe handles his E6600 though but verry min vcore with it..and we manage to keep it at 3600 Mhz ok..

if you get yourself a Danfoss Tl4cl compressor it will fit onto your Xe case
Then you could buy a GSmaster chill controller to run the unit...they work Good... http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=96464&page=9

And you could go the new suction line and evap head swap.

Basicly take out your compressor and everrything wired to it and start again....
