bootup,
take a good look at the 2nd board (the red one) . It has 4 different colored memslots . 2 of those are for DDR3 mem (pink and blue)
It is not fake, Asus guys hit 1000Mhz too but only 10-10-10 which is not so good actually

I'm extremely intersted in your opinon of the best P35 mb since I will be buying one of these in August. Would very much like to know all your details of your #1 overclocking board pick (particularly the highest FSB achievable).

yep , i hit the fsb wall of my xeon @ 565mhz fsb (25° water), like my DFI , P5bdlx ... But i dont know if i m going to test all motherboard under -100° ;)

That was the case long time ago ;)
Nowadays there are Xeon CPUs for desktop mainboards and sockets. Its said that they consist of better silicium compared to the desktop chips, but I cant say that that is true.
But the name sounds better ;)

Ok, so are you still testing the Gigabyte board so far? Will you be posting clocks of the other boards in the next 2 weeks? So far from everything I've been seeing in 3 forums it seems this Gigabyte is the fastest, highest overclocking P35 out to date. Could someone tell me different?

I think the ds3p has 2 pcie slots plus its only ddr2 support
the ds3r has one pcie slot and it has support for 2 ddr3 dimm
that is what I see right away

If that was a question, then yes, it supports both, but not at the same time. You can use either DDR2 or DDR3, not DDR2 and DDR3.

I've ordered a P35C-DS3R and was looking at one the cheaper Core 2 Duo Processors to partner it, then I saw this ...
"Intel plans to slash prices 40-60% for quad-core server processors in July. The Kentsfield Xeon X3210 and X3220 will have their prices cut to US$224 and US$266 respectively"

not set to 2.55v , set to +0.7v normaly it does do 1.8v + 0.7v but + 0.7v does 2.72v ;)

Yes this is about the max fsb for my processor (L628B123 E6600). This is the p35c-ds3.
I have recently done the VMCH mod and the vdimm mod, but now I have a question about the VMCH readout point?
According to shamino's guide it should be this point:
http://resources.vr-zone.com.sg/Shamino/gigap35ds3/18.jpg
But when I measure that point is gives me 4,9v (5v line?)..
Does anyone have the correct VMCH readout point?
