Anybody have anything good or bad to say about koolance blue coolant? My first WC setup was a koolance exos. I had it 2 years without changing coolant, Temps didnt fall off much and tubing stayed clear and flow seemmed as high after 2 years as it was new. I sold that a year ago and the new owner as off last week still reported no issues. Thats 3 years on same coolant. I was thinking of using koolance coolant in this build. (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=144798) with some blue uv dye.
Any reason why i shouldn't?

The Koolance fluid has TONS of ethylene glycol because they use aluminum radiators.
Always use water, its unbeatable ;) (well there's exceptions but...)

Thanks serial. What would you reccommend dye wise to get that shade of blue? http://www.koolance.com/shop/images/more/liq-700bu-b_p0.jpg
I'm actually going for this look..

I use the Koolance Coolant and love it. I like the blue color and they filter the water so its really clear. There are pics of it in my system in my sig. Highly recommend it. I tested it against using pure water in my system and didnt see a change in temps so thats why I use it. Not only that its designed to work with different metals in your loop. That bottle is great for siphonning as well as filling the resovoir.

use distiled water+pentosine+some uv dye=best performace from my experiences ethylene glycol seems to gunk up my water blocks (apogee) and it is a pain to get out cus you cant wash it out, you have to get a small piece of wire or a brush to get it out. :(

I have run Koolance coolant for a year and never saw deposites in any of my blocks. The tubing has always stayed clear. No residues in the resoviors either.

D-tek UV dye in moderate amounts should do the job. FrozenCPU dye should work too. The way to get the color you like is turn on a UV CCFL, and add the dye until the color is optimal.

Don't use any UV dye unless you want powder deposits in your blocks, pump, and rad....it will happen. I recommend using 5-10% of the blue uv reactive Pentosin that Petra sells.

Uh, where have you been? Nowadays there are several dyes without the powdery s***.

It's my favorite type of dye along with the D-Tek dyes. It's powerful stuff so don't let it drip on anything you'd like to keep clean.

Do you use the whole bottle in a system?

Like I said use as much as you think you need to make it look the way you want ;)
Jab-tech had cheap dye that wasn't the powdery crap too, too bad they don't sell it anymore :( I'm not sure about the FrozenCPU dye, Maxxx has a few bottles maybe we could have a little status check on them? :) If a bottle of dye can sit undisturbed for months and still remain completely in solution then I'd say its safe to use.
