View Full Version : My 1700+ JIUHB loves the voltage?

I've seen everyone getting crazy results with the 1700+ at near stock voltage... Mine needed 1.65v to get to 2000mhz, and all the way to 1.90v to get to 2167.

I'm kinda mad at it now, so I decided to brute force it. Got it running at 2333 at 2.05v, and 2400 at 2.15v.

So anyways, who wants to take bets on how long it'll last?

Prime crashes after an hour at 2410 mhz, so I'm trying again at 2394 mhz. If it's stable here, then to heck with it, lets see if she lives all summer.

What struck me as weird was I'd seen all those posts about how after a certain point, adding more voltage made no difference, or even made things worse. For this CPU, adding lots of voltage was the only way to get results.

i had a very similar question, where i need 2.1v to get my DLT3C to run at 2.3GHz.

i've heard that the DUT3C chips like lots of voltage, and the DLT3C chips don't like it, but i don't see that in my situation.

what kind of cooling are you using?

You're right, it's a DUT3C chip. I'm running a 226w pelt. At 2100+ and 1.60v it's idling at like 3 degrees. by the time I get it up to 2400 it's idling at 23 degrees C. :eek:

Hmm. May be time to replace this thing, then.

wow.... i think you should accidently break the 1700 and get a new dlt.. lol. mines only mediocre(sp?) and does almost 2300mhz @ 1.6v.

not all DLT3C chips are that good. like i said earlier, i need 2.1v just to get 2.3GHz with my chip. it's a 0312 DLT3C.

I wonder if they got better as time went on. Mine was an 0305 or 0306, I forget.

My 0308 DUT3C does 168x12 (2016) stable 24/7 with stock voltage (1.6v) with a volcano6cu+ for cooling. Its not quite stable at 2.1 with this voltage, but I'm not convinced the problem isent the 5v rail dipping too low, or the cooling.

ocability with 1.6v depends a lot on cooling though.

i also had som probs with my 1700

2050@1.6 36°C
2133@1.7 39°C
2200@1.8 40°C
2260@1.9 46°C
2322@1.9 47.5°C
2322@2.0 51°C
2385@2.0 51°C

this is what it was like when i just got the chip, i havent run too many tests now, but it needs less voltage for higher speeds now. going to check that again and post results.

I might be able to make 2400mhz at 1.8v after this chip (2000+ AIUHB DUT3C SPDW Y) has a chance to break in, heh.

Limited on FSB until I get new video card, though.

Makes 2200mhz @ 1.65v :toast:

My old 0302 JIUHB 1700+ DUT3C took 2.25v no problem on air, but the 70C that resulted was slightly unsettling.. and I never did get a stable OC with that ammount of heat, lol 8-)

nice! well i must say, the resuts from above are with an coolermaster silent cooler, so temps were pretty high. im sure i need less voltage for ocing when ill be watercooling it.

and i only increased the voltage by 0.1v when i notced it wasnt stable...

well mine is also running on 2.0 volt @ 202x11.5 it's a week 13

It really does "love" voltage. Often ppl say this, but it seems it can just take more, but w/o those kinds of gains. I would not think 2167@1.90v would get near 2.4Ghz @ all. If you can get it stable. Not too bad. I mean >2.5GHz usually needs some sweet cooling.
