I don't know if this is something that already might be known by some, but I found that closeing Explorer.exe while running 3Dmark got me higher scores on XP, then when its done hit Alt-Ctrl-Del and then File and New Task and type in Explorer to relaunch it.
If you try this please post results
3Dmark03
-before 4730
-after 4805
Haven't had a chance to test it on 3Dmark01 yet.

It never helped me when using 3Dmark01 and Windows2000. Tryed it on my Radeon 64MB SDR and G2 Ti.

I'm only adding that it also works in windows2k.
Another good one for xp that someone new to benching is windows services there's alot of crap you can shut down in there. tweakhound has list. you have to play with it, i've found you can shut off more then what he siggests if all you do is bench/game & surf. i think i have about 6 things in services running thats it. it helps shut down times too. when i turn my rig off its off in like 3 seconds flat. i dont know if it helps boot times because im running a raid 0. ;) later.
