Hey guys, I’ve got a strange problem that I need your help on. I’m running an Intel Badaxe2 with an E6600, a Tuniq Tower, 3 gb of ram, and XP. When I have a failed overclock from stress testing with SANDRA, TAT, IDU, or running 3Dmark06, the computer reboots and it takes out Windows XP and I have to reload the OS again. In the past when I used an E4300 or even a Prescott 550, I just go into BIOS and tweak the voltages and everything would be fine and Windows would start normally.
This time, with the E6600, a failed overclock completely renders Windows inoperable. I have to keep reinstalling XP after each time. Has anyone had this happen? I didn’t think it was possible for Windows to die completely due to a failed overclock.
I’m not even doing any insane overclocking: just 380 fsb with about 1.4v core, 1.4v fsb, and 1.525v northbridge with 2333 BIOS on the Badaxe2 and all of the power saving features disabled. Sometimes when I’ve reload Windows and log in, there’s a message that says Windows has successfully fix some missing file (I think it may be some dll file). Any advice on fixing this problem?
