Curious what people think. XBX2 and QX6700 on air.

I can go to 3.33 GHz and 1333 FSB on stock or near stock vCore and the lowest mobo volt settings (like 1.2 vFSB and 1.5 vMCH or something) available (this is actually pretty good for air). But I cannot go a single lick faster on CPU speed or FSB, at any volts at all (vCore, vFSB, or vMCH), and be long term prime stable. I have tried multipliers up and down the spectrum and played with RAM straps and the like for a few months now. I know my RAM is good well beyond the range that becomes unstable so that isn't the issue. My small fft prime load temps tend to be in the mid to high 60's.

Where would people guess my limit is occurring, if you had to guess, the board or the CPU? I was considering a P5K deluxe, but if I am limited CPU-side then I may as well stick with the bad axe 2.

It would suck to spring for P5K Dlx if I only get to 400 FSB or so with similar CPU OC and my overall performance is not improved.

XBX2 isnt all that great for quad OCing....it hits a wall itself around 400+ (tricky to sometimes even get 400, anything above takes effort usually) with a dual core....quads on the other hand are like 350mhz I believe.

So 333 FSB is probably about what to expect ballpark-ish for XBX2/QX6700 on air then?

Yep mate , only the 965 chipsets and the new P35's are great for Quadcore galore, even some 680i boards are pretty bad quad overclockers ( including mine lol 360fsb here with the Q6600 tested )
