Hmm still not sure if i want to try the 2900xt or not. Be a while before mature drivers will be released. I am kind of hopeing the 8800 price will drop some. Cause all i need now is a gfx card to complete my system.

i got one from powercolor here in portugal but its only in stok 15th or 16th

409$ its not a bad price for launch price , i think.

if he games alot get the 2900XT if not so much get the GTS 320 and use the extra money for yourself ;)

I wont be getting any money from it either way. He mainly wants it for media acceleration. the 2900 is supposed to support that whereas the 8800 does not.

gaming will be minimal, but he still wants a nice video card in case some game comes along that he wants to play

The 8600 GT does support media acceleration, but it's not good for gaming.

It's a water cooler that you can slide in 2 5 1/2" bays. :cool:
