Hey everyone, I am hoping to get some advice from you guys in regards to gaming headsets. I currently have a Creative Fatal1ty x-Fi card and Creative G500 310 Watts RMS 5.1 GigaWorks ProGamer Speaker System. The reason for the headset is that my computer resides in the living room and I don't want to disturb my wife while she's watching TV or studying/reading and hearing the television or other background noise while trying to kill people can be quite distracting.

Right now my price range is 100-200 dollars and I would like them to be able to block background noise as much as possible and at the same time keep them from leaking noise to those around me.

I came across Trittonusa in a CPU magazine and was curious as to how the following measure up to other headsets out there: TRI-GA600 :: AX360 GAMING HEADPHONES.

I've never purchased gaming headsets before so any advice or recommendations would be welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks

Thats what I have.. then just buy a mic seperate.. everyone says the same thing .. I went the other way before and had a gaming headset.. the sound is not the same quality as a pair of these. you can check the stats yourself. Any of the sennheiser products are great in that price range id say..

Thanks Tommy for the tip. I was looking at the Senn's earlier but all the reviews I've seen from this brand all refer to audio quality in reference to music/DVD play back and not gaming.
It would be nice though if these worked great for gaming as well as watching DVD's on my computer then I could drop my desktop speakers down to 2.1 for web browsing and use this headset for both gaming and DVD's.

I have another question. I have the Fatal1ty that came with the front drive bay. Now from what I understand they advise the use of an amp w/ this headset so I wouldn't plug these into the front panel but, instead, I would plug them into the volume control of my speakers in order to use the amp? Would the headset still use the amp if my speakers are plugged into my sound card and the headset is plugged into the front pannel?

Thanks

Just went to the Sennheiser website and they say that these have been discontinued.
