Vista "Lagging Boot Screen"

Well, I just got the problem on this reinstall of windows ... and the last one before it ... apparently, somethings causing it but i don't know which one. Anyway, after i boot it, it comes up with a black screen ... I think windows is doing nothing, but no it is doing something. However, i counted exactly 40 seconds of pure black screen before windows vista's loading bar comes up ... and with the SOS, i find that it gets stuck loading the driver after ataport.sys .... any suggestions?

My Ultimate Pro takes 35 sec to get to the load bar on a Intel 945 @ 4.3 and 2 gig's of ram so 40 is not that bad IMO. If you want to boot quicker do a google for Vista tweeks. There is pages and pages of them. I have not had time to do any of them yet. GL with it.
