06 is nice. Did you use LOD? Nature in 01 is rubbish my 7900GS beat it. I love those RAM sinks.

Nice job, seems like even a single one of these can play any game out right now at highest settings if cooling and OC is in check.

Yep...fact is...they will drop down in price like a rock in a lake...and they have the same no. of shaders as the GTS...only lower clocked ram and core.

Plus I wouldn't mind buying ZOTAC...its like buying nvidia, but helping ATI :p

Bugs me, having such a great clocking 8800GTS, and it just can't do anything against these C2Ds in 3D06 because of my Athlon. Doesn't help to get 4200 on the Video parts when I can only get 1300 on the CPU score :(

Nice scores anyways though, good to see some budget hardware doing well out there.

Dont know why, But some danish tests also revealed that the 8600 has a hard time against 7900 GS in specific tests

Has a hard time in everything but 3DMark 05 and 06. These are toss away cards. Something to beat on. 128-bit memory interface is garbage, setting any res above 1280 will kill these things.
Those are nice scores though, C2D power is something to behold in 3D.

PcCI2iminal, pencil a bit the damn boards, go over 850MHz gpu freq then come back with the real results ;)

Not bad. Sadly I think the 8600's are really only going to shine in synthetic benchmarks due to their lousy 128 bit interface and meek 32 shaders.

in "real life" they are not that bad ,actually i`m playing BF2142 @ 1280x1024 (medium) + Forceware @ 4x/16x with only one those cards and i got a good frame rate ;)

Nice results there!

I am considering getting a pair of these myself. What pencil did you use. A normal HB or something like a B2?

Thanks - Paul

gg PcCI2iminal ;)
A result comparable with 8800GTX. Can you test them in some games please (CoH, FEAR, STALKER) ?
