This game sucks bad so save your money.

I checked it out for a short period of time and I must say it is a complete mess. The monthly fee is outrageous and for that you get no customer support, all support was done during off hours of the daily server restarts.

There is a memory leak in the clients that crash them all like clockwork about every two hours, this has been going on since game release says some of the players in the game. I was wondering as my machine never crashes so when a game is that messed up it had me wondering if it was my hardware.

Part of that lack of customer support is not having any GM online to field stuck corpse or other issues where a players time is addressed. Any EXP loss is gone, even if it is due to server or game issues. When you fall through the world it will reset your charecter to what it calls a "safe spot" and it will often drop you in from a hight that often kills you on impacting the ground.

This anomoly of falling through happens on all defects in the world mesh and there are most likely millions of them throughout the game. I fell through at least 200 times, after too many patches it is left unfixed or addressed.

I fell through into sub terrainian unfinished content and died, impossible to retrieve corpse for exp so summoning to a bind stone was needed, this all goes back to no support staff online to assist ever. I even fell through while swimming in water that ended in exp loss.

Much of the game is unfinished content, so you pay to play as they beta. You will see messages in game that warn about areas that you will lose your corpse in, this message is not when you log in nor is it posted anywhere, you miss the message you pay the price.

Part of that unfinished content is unfinished quests, they had thousands of players waste hours looking for several charecters in game that did no exist and these were "live quests"

To get a hunting party together is a joke, someone crashing to desktop every few minutes makes it a real task to even get started sometimes, its best to crash when fighting to healing the tank, the group pays the price, common for several people to crash at once.

The graphics are sub par and congested areas, poor tuning in some areas like Khal where boats dock.

As Sigil tries to get new content into the game, it completely misses the charecters who started at launch as 90% of the game content was missed.

The game appears to be content that was scrapped from Everquset, stuff pulled from the garbage best describes what Sigil is pawning off as an MMORPG, so dont be fooled and save your money for games that play as intended.

AVOID THIS GAME, #1 WORST GAME OF 2007

Hahahahaha someone should have done an inquiry about vanguard and I would have informed you guys that it sucks, terrible design team and buggy software. The game looked decent visually but the gameplay absolutely sucks, the only cool bit within the game was the ability to be an amassador and have "debates".

WoW FTL, Conan FTW

Well, I think the biggest downer here is the crashing thing. I can live up with unfinished quest, or imbalance, so long as they are communicated properly and will be fixed "sooner" than later.

The last thing I'd like to play is a game where I get pissed off because it crashes, just when I am about to kill a boss for that big EXP gain.

Some of my guildies ran off to play this game, but most have them have floated back after a few weeks. Still a few MIA though. Can't really understand why Sony wanted to split their audience. Some of those who had the Station Pass to play all Sony MMOs went for it and most lived to regret it. :D

They lied to the player base about the game status. When it was in open beta it was really in beta 1. When it was released it was really like beta 2.

Me and some friends put together a site and clan and played it since what they called beta 3. I was the first to quite, a month into the game. A few friends followed.

The game was and is the biggest piece of :banana::banana::banana: I have ever played. They say the game is graphically intense and you need a really good computer to play, though they are lying about that. The code was never streamlined and the engine is a disaster so you need a good computer to make up for their crappy programming.

I could type 10 pages on this game. Long story short its a huge flop and soon to be going down the drain. Aparantly Sigil is bankrupt and wants to sell to SOE but they really don't want the game since it just loses money.

I play EVE online and Phantasy Star Universe now. Much happier :D

I like the game. It is buggy but I think that bothers most people because they have become accustomed to the games that are out now that have already been fixed. EQ, WOW, EQ2 were all buggy when released. Now I think it is true that Vanguard is likely even more buggy than these games were at launch, but lets at least put it into perspective.

Also, Sony recently acquired the game and has increased funding and dedicated an entire team to fix the issues. Sigil simply didn't have the resources to pull this off, but Sony does.

If your not a hardcore EQ fan then I would suggest probably stay away from Vanguard until it gets relaunched. However, after the relaunch it will be a solid choice for niche gamers that find games like WOW too simple and easy.

I presently am playing a Bard on VG and it is absolutely the most complex class I have tried in any MMORPG, Im lovin it and performance is continually getting better.

Thought i'd add a few comments - I played beta, then went on the 3 day pre release order and played for those 3 days near enough solid - the game crashed, was slow I had major issues with pretty much everything, it actually 'felt' worse than in beta. I quit even before activating my free month. I was bored so popped up my station access last week, 20gb patch later its sitting on my computer. Its running faster than I ever saw it before (probably lack of population!) I have not once crashed to desktop and only once managed to get myself stuck so far, which was by accidently falling into a hole - had I done it in real life I would of been stuck also!! (with broken legs probably) They are planning a relaunch, end 2007/beginning 2008, but i'm happy enough with it at the moment, its certainly a LOT better than when it was launched. And for all the games that are about to come out, Conan, Warhammer etc they will also most likely have months of bugs... Vanguard just released way too early :( May be worth a look come relaunch.

oh, and i'm quite happily running it on my laptop, a 1920x1200 res... FPS are 25 at the absolute lowest, but usually 40-50.
