I ordered a 8600gt XXX from zipzoom @ $160. I should get it tues I think. Stock clocks are 620MHz core 1800 ram, Im putting it on water and Im hoping to hit 750 core.

I kind of feel like an idiot considering I could have got and x850xt for $55, most likely would have come close for a 1/3 of the price. Oh well I'll try to have some fun with the 8600 =P

The 7600GT is faster at most things than a 8600GT.
except 3Dmark06:p:

The only thing the 8600 has going for it is DX10 and that won't be a factor for a while yet.

I have test a 8600gts for pctuner.net , if for te mod is not a problem I can post the test , is a good video for bench ( I have take 14k @ 3d05 on liquid with a "daily setup") but if U use filters the gpu looks a bit powerless :(

I had a 8600GTS, and it did this with Theramright Hr-03 with nexus fan.
Fun card to play with, but so much slower then my X1950XT...So I sent i back :fact:

got that pretty easily, I'm on water atm. Not sure if that's average or not, but I was kind of hoping for more. I'll play around with it more later. Considering a stock 8600gt is 540/700 I got 165 on the core and 150 on the ram. I'm considering penciling it, will hopefully hit 800/900.

That card looks more like an GTS but with the timmings ajusted. Because shamino can't reach 1ghz in mem

High ram speed 2400mhz+ and forceware 158+ is the key! I did 13K with opty 165 and BFG 8600Gts @ 795\2400, 3,3ghz cpu and mayby 13,5k? Fore 14k, you will need voltmods, me thinks

Now that I think about it, I don't even know if I ran 3D05. It was so much slower than my 7950GT in 01, 03 and FEAR, COD2 and SC : DA that I ditched it right away.
Looks like the card is only good for benching in 05 and 06, but current games bring those cards to it's knees.
Maybe I'll pick one up just to torture. I haven't been able to afford extra hardware just to beat up in a long while, time to dig out the soldering iron and VR's again.......let's see, about two years since I've done that, hope I can still solder. :rolleyes:

its alot faster of course, however I only play ut04 so that's not really anything to brag about =P I sold my core2 and the x2 I'm on atm is running at 2GHz since I cant get a good mounr heatspreaderless, I'm waiting on getting a new block then I should be able to do 2/9 or so, I'll run 3dmarks by next week unless you want to see 2GHz x2 power :banana:

there's my 05 with a lowly 2.3GHz a64, I should be pumping the brisbane to 3 hopefully on the dfi and I will be penciling the 8600.

200MHz over a stock 8600gt. I have a feeling I can do 1GHz core if I pencil it. If this thing had 256 bit memory it'd fly =/
