And how much will this cost us? I don't care for a dual format what I am interested in is the cost of it. Do you understand that legit "just released" blue ray dvd movies cost as much as $40 after tax/shipping most of the time? What good is it to have such a hybrid device when movies cost as much as a PC game?

You mean like the cheap Toshiba DVD player I bought about 5 years ago that could play both formats? There's no war between DVD+R's and -R's... no DVD player made today will only play one or the other, they will all play both.

Edit: Didn't Samsung previously have a dual-drive unit that would play both (Blu-Ray in one slot and HD-DVD in the other)? Don't get me wrong, I'm all for single units that will do both and I hope to see more of them at lower prices in the near future, but it's not exactly the hottest and most unheard of thing ever.

that thing is gonna cost a grand.. it does look nice tho... but I am happy with my Xbox360 HD DVD hack to pc. weeee.
