Microsoft Begins Push Into Adobe's Flash Stronghold

Microsoft is taking aim at Adobe Systems' ubiquitous Flash technology with the pending beta release of its own rich media technology for browsers, called Silverlight.

Formerly code-named Windows Presentation Foundation Everywhere, Silverlight will compete with Flash as a way of jazzing up Web applications during development, then playing them in a browser. Silverlight will be released for beta testing later this month at Microsoft's Mix 07 conference for Web 2.0 developers.

Lool ak XP64 theres a perfect example of something created my MS that folks at high hopes for they sold it to thousands and thousands of people then pretty much just abandoned it and the customers whom payed money for their product!

No kidding, Adobe is just now finally starting to write a 64 bit flash for linux, been waiting for years. I can only see Microsoft doing this to try and beat them to it.

Kinda hard to keep support for something many people don't want in the first place. You can thank lazy coders for ruining that experence. That, or the many of people who didn't want anything to do with it. XP64 was the most absolute stable version of Windows, hands down. The fact that many people spouted that x64 was nothing useful was why nobody cared to code for it.Why waste resources when everyone is like "OMG 64 is uyseless nows stoopid n00b." Nevermind the fact that one day it will be necessary. Why plan for the future! 32 is now!

Actually I don't care for Windows but I was genuinely interested in Buying XP64 but figured I would wait a year until their were more drivers available and folks had worked the kinks out. So as much as I hate to say and endorse Micro$ I am really pissed it took a dump and never added up to much!
