Just an FYI from WCG:

Maintenance April 15, 2007 5:30 UTC

"We will be starting our weekend backup early and extending the down time to do some system maintenance. This could last up to 5 hours. During this period members may not be able to sign into the web site and not have their agents return results and get new work units. Agents are likely to show the "agent paused" message during this time. No user action is required and the agents will automatically try again later when the site is back up. Sorry for any inconvenience."

Sierra, is there any way to download WU s in order to keep crunching even though the wcg server is offline?

TIA

yes, go to device manager select the profile you use lets say its default, when you see the default profile manager go to network usage, and "Connect to network about every " it should say 0.1 day well put 2 o 3 days and you will have a lot of work downloaded in your pc so if something happend to the wcg server you can last some days :p:

Go down to where it says "Coneect to network about every". That's the setting that controls the supply of WU's you have. The default setting is 0.5 days.

And I also understand that the new Boinc 5.8.x scheduler actually downloads less WUs in the buffer if "connect every..." is set more than 2 days. So stick to 2 days settings.
