I've currently got a BIP1 and Coolrad22T (BIX2 formfactor) and am possibly interested in a new home. I noticed the sunbeam freezing storm has the "core" bar inside.

price is reasonable. Would it be unreasonable to think I could put my "bix2" in there?
It looks like I shouldn't have any problem mounting the bip1 internally in the rear.

 how dare you associate that awesome radiator with the shameful BIX2?
Sorry :p: :D

lol xtreme mentor
it looks like I might be able to just get by. Can't really tell for sure though. Looks like that motherboard is full width matx, which is wider than the atx boards I'll be dealing with. With that set as reference, it looks like I'll be able to get by by a pinch. Hm. maybe even put in a triple some day. haha yeah!

Not much to say, but with a name like that I can see my computer getting frostbite in that case :D . I dunno, maybe a low end lain li for a few more bucks?

I already have a case that I've modded for my rad. But for the time being, I'd rather not have to drill any more holes with my holesaw, and this really caught my eye. Looks like I'd be able to do work on the computer without completely dissembling everything as well. Lotta front bays too for its size

damn. you posted in my thread. I should either be honored or humiliated ;)
I'd be doing pretty much the same exact thing I did with my free ultra case I have now, and would neuter pretty much all my 5.25"'s. I'm really interested in keeping everything inside the case. And the whole idea that I can get the rad in there without doing really any work at all is what's intriguing me.
Also, I'm trading my friend my old cpu for credit on a newegg purchase he's doing (6 month no payment so we both win sort to speak) and I can't really think of anything I need, but have to find something to order since it's a one order deal for the offer.
edit: besides, trusting me to do physical work on a work of art like a lian li would be disgraceful. After I'm done with it, it'd have enough nicks all around that I wouldn't care much more for taking good care of it. so really, unfortunately, with my handiwork, it'd be a waste on me
I'd just be gambling that by some stroke of miracle, the rad will fit vertically in there and I'll be able to have a hayday

Tell you what.. for 20 bucks I will do the work needed to install that rad into the case. I require only one thing.. You get a Black Radgrillz.
here is a link to what I'm talking about.
With what I'm thinking you will loose some of your 5.25 slots but it will look really nice.
I also suggest getting dynamat Extreme to put on the case walls. I used on on the PC-7 build i just did and it makes that case seem like its make of briks instead of thin aluminum. This is of course assuming that you are going for silence.
so if your interested just hit me up on PM. Obviously shipping costs are on you. turn around time would be 3-4 days. it mainly depends on when i can find some time and daylight after work. shipping would be your choice of course.
Lastly. I'm just a normal guy like you. I just had alot of time on my hands for a while and was able to compile a large amount of info and write the articles.

Thanks for the offer. I really appreciate it, and might take you up on it someday if I ever do decide to get a decent case. But since my friend would be buying the case, I'd be buying shipping so many times all over the place, and in the end, the cost would come out to be way higher than a way better case. So I'm going to have to graciously decline for the time being.

ziddey, this is why you have to get started on that custom blingy case you were telling me about :P Perhaps I gotta suck it up, spend a bunch of money on tools, and do the same :D

0 mods!!
the holes on the bar aren't designed for having 120mm's touching like non-tchill rads. not sure if the spacing is right for TC, although considering the width you have to work with, I don't know if TC would really work at all. It may if you relocate the fan to the other side of the bar (stock config had one on one side of the bar and another on the other). However, the problem I have with my bix style rad is that the barbs will interfere with the lip of the bar (easily fixable with 30 seconds and a dremel, but I'm trying to maintain stock at the moment).
Currently, I just have it mounted to see if I could. I have the rad and bottom fan screwed to the bar. The top fan is screwed into the rad only and not the bar since the spacing of the holes isn't right. But it is pretty much a perfect fit as it is. The bar has enough lip for 3 120 fans touching (mcr320, etc). I'm not sure if there'd be height issues with the mcr320 though since it's a little taller, but if it can fit vertically in the case, it should be doable with this case as well.
Materials for the case are better than your $20 case, but not as good as the free after rebate ultra wizard, although it comes close. Toolless is a nice touch. Next step is to see if video card clears it ;). I don't know about 8800's that much, but hopefully this 7900 will be fine :)
edit: if I mount the rad upside down (which I plan to do), there's no lip to worry about, so the rad can go right against the bar. This allowed me to put a 120mm on the other side of the bar and use the right holes to mount the bar closer to the front. Not sure if the fan on the other side of the bar will interfere with video card, but if it doesn't, it'd be spectacular.

I'd venture to say that anyone wanting a fully internal bip3 system without any mods or expensive case, this would be the one to pick.

Interesting! Though wouldn't the bottom fan get starved for air because of those sidesaddle HD bays in the way?

In the second setup, there's actually decent clearance that the hdd bay isn't directly blocking it. And I figure since it's on the radio, there should be positive pressure in the area, and will help the bottom part
edit: ack. not a good idea to post and talk to someone at the same time. Instead of "since it's on the radio", it should read "since there's a 120mm intake on the other side of the saddle)
The only modification I might look into doing is cutting a small opening on the backplate at the upper right, so I can route my psu cables through there to the back of the case, so it's tidier.
The bar fans won't get in the way of the video card but I think my ocz xtc cooler for the ram might pose an issue :(

Gigabyte Aurora - it has 2×120 in the back.

ehh I saw that one but I'm not a big fan of big cases. the freezing storm is about the limit in terms of case size, which is what I like about it. also, the style is more conservative. and price is about half the aurora. Besides, the gigabyte looks like it was designed more to house the rad externally it looks, judging by the two tube passthroughs. And that wouldn't really help that much if it'd require pulling the rad off by the screws. with the bar, it's only 3 screws, and I don't have to worry about puncturing the rad everytime.
edit: damn! it was a good shot. the setup just cleared the 7900, but because of the pcie power, it became a no go
