Hello all,

Im doing my little testing on overclocking my AW9D-Max

Seeing as I have pc8500 dominator ram Ive opted for a 400*8 cpu clock which takes it to 3.2 running ram as well 1:1@400mhz

Now even though the bios reads 400*8 and boots fine it seems on 1.35v (coretemp still shows it as 1.325v) When i check coretemp for the clock it says its at 3490.11Mhz (436.26 x 8.0)

Now i know my bios says 400*8 effective clock 3.2Ghz..

Anyone know why this would be happening ?

Thanks in advance..

James..

cuz it thinks your using the default 9x multi.
i assume you have a 6600 ?

the program cant tell the difference if you lower the multi or not.

if youdont have a 6600 and you have a 6400 then i dont know why its reading like this.

never trust a program like that for something its not designed for. use CPU-Z

Yes I am using a e6600..

Ok ill take a look with the other program.. Unfortunatley the ram i guess wasnt stable for me as unpacking rar file i got crc error on one of the files in it,, I have droped it back down to 366*9 but running ram at 366 to give it even transfer feeding is annoying as id like it at 400 at least to warrant having the ram..

i tried various voltages: cpu 1.325 and 1.350 - ram 2.05/2.10/2.15/ even 2.2

running 4-4-4-12 timings as I have done always with it on other clock settings and it was fine then as is now at 366*9.

i even upped the Mch a tad to 1.51 from 1.50 and i dont seem to get much joy getting it to post fully anymore.. not sure whats wrong with my combination, afraid to keep trying as ive probably reset the bios about 12 times already lol.. scares me.

I need 1.85mch for 400fsb.

1.85v ouch.. hmmmm whats the reason for having the pci voltage that much higher then ? kinda worrying or is 1.85 nothing to be concerned about?

1.475@3.6 u have hmmmm i guess I probably havent been upping the volts enough/volt drop on board etc as well i guess maybe i should have a go and pump it up a tiny bit more..

Just worried ill fry something :(

Well I had to pump 1.4 (real ) volts through my E6400 to get it smooth sailing at 3200mhz, MCH at 1.55 on my P5W, man temps were fab on the thermalright Ultra120 , never reached 50°C under Orthos blend mode, whished the 4mb version ran as cool as the Allendales
