Hi guys,
Seems you are the guys in the know so I thought I'd ask your opinions on how I should upgrade my PC, I have a general idea of what I want, but feel free to make suggestions.
My Vapochill is currently winging its way to Gray Mole for some mods, so the cooling will be sorted shortly :woot:
For the spec I was thinking of:
Core2Duo 6300
2gb DDR2-5300 Ram
Asus P5? series motherboard
PCI-E Graphics Card.
Essentially, it's the motherboard and graphics card I want the most help with. Ideally I'm looking at about £150 for both.
I'm not a big gamer at all, infact 95% of my time on the PC is surfing the net, the occasional game of Ghost Recon (old skool!) and I'd like to try CounterStrike in the near future.
I think I'd be ok spending about £60-70 each on both the motherboard and graphics card, an Asus P5B maybe? No idea about what graphics card is best....it's got to be "ok" and run Vista Aero spot on, and cope with the few games I may chuck at it once in a while. For the mobo, if theres any known issues with the Vapo S775 kit not fitting, then its out (so the ones with heatpipes may be no good?) - ideally it'd have a 9pin D Sub COM port for the ChillControl too.
