View Full Version : DDR-533 option disappears when CPU freq 333Mhz is set

Hi, I finally finished baselining my system and pretty much satisfied with my level of knowledge about overclocking (after about a month of research).

I went into my BIOS to do the overclock and ran into a problem however.

When I set my CPU Frequency to 333MHz, the option for DDR-533 disappears. When I set my CPU Freq back to the stock 266MHz, the option for DDR-533 re-appears.

I'm going for a 333MHz x 9 to start out with on my system. And also going for a 1:1 ratio.

Can anyone tell me why the DDR-533 option disappears when I set my CPU freq to 333Mhz?

Thanks.

Lets do some math
With stock FSB of 266 a 1:1 ratio would be DDR2-533 (2*266=532=533)
So if the FSB is 333 a 1:1 ratio would be DDR2-667 (2*333=666=667)

Ok got it thanks

Got a follow-up question.

AI Tuning --> Manual
CPU Frequency --> 333
DRAM Frequency --> DDR2-667MHz
PCI Express Frequency --> 100
PCI Clock Synchronous Mode --> 33.33MHz
Spread Spectrum --> Disabled
Memory Voltage --> 2.25V
CPU VCore Voltage --> 1.4000V
FSB Termination Voltage --> 1.400V
NB VCore --> Auto
SB Vcore (SATA, PCIE) --> Auto
ICH Chipest Voltage -- Auto

For some of these settings I don't know what to put, so I just went with Auto. But I'd like to know if I should leave them at auto or set them to something (and if so, what).

And also for the settings that I actually did put in a value, are they correct?

Take that exact post into the huge P5B-Deluxe thread and all your questions will be answered.
It is in the Intel section.

which ballistix do you have?

are you going to be satisfied with 9x333=3000?

if so, then

AI Tuning --> Manual
CPU Frequency --> 333
DRAM Frequency --> DDR2-667MHz
PCI Express Frequency --> 100
PCI Clock Synchronous Mode --> 33.33MHz
Spread Spectrum --> Disabled
Memory Voltage --> 2.25V (you can probably use less here. 2.1v?)
CPU VCore Voltage --> 1.4000V (i guess you might need this much because of droop)
FSB Termination Voltage --> 1.400V (does not seem necessary at all. leave at 1.20v)
NB VCore --> Auto (1.25v)
SB Vcore (SATA, PCIE) --> Auto (1.5v)
ICH Chipest Voltage -- Auto (1.057v)

So I think I'm clear on everything except for NB VCore, SB Vcore, and ICH Chipset Voltage.

What should I put those to?

i put comments next to everything in ().

drop vfsb to 1.2v. if you're at 333fsb with e6600, it'd be silly to give more.
vnb, at 333fsb, if you're using 1:1 for ram, leave it at 1.25v. it should be stable. if not, bump it a notch, but it should not have any problems being stable.
vsb, leave at 1.5v
vich leave at 1.057
