Initial impressions...wow this thing is ridiculously sensitive. I did my homework and it looks like I made the right choice - I have cured my mouse lag on this LCD :woot:
Its so fast you will need to spend some time fine-tuning your settings. One of my favorite things is the individual X-Y axis sensitivity. This is great for a widescreen monitor where you have more horizontal area than vertical. You can dial in the feel right where you want it, or in my case, as close as you think you can eventually get used to.
The buttons are very clicky and responsive. The side buttons are much larger and in a better position than the Copperhead, which I think were too far out of the way. Also the middle mouse button is rubber and feels really good. Probably the best wheel I have ever used. Plus the clicking of it is spot on and its much easier to hit it repeatedly without accidentally scrolling the wheel.
I set my middle mouse button to "On the fly sensitivity". This is awesome - you can click and hold the button and scroll the wheel to get a slider that shows you on a scale of 1-10, in increments of .5, your sensitivity. You can use the wheel to fling it up or down. This will be great for Photoshop, with no menus to go into to change settings.
What I don't like...well the whole mouse has this anti-slick coating like my LX710 keyboard which is great - except for the sides. You will constantly feel like your side buttons and your thumb are ice skating. Also the buttons are very loud. It is not quiet at all like most Logitechs. Its rather unpleasant but its something you will have to put up with if you want to enjoy the advantages this mouse has. Also, acceleration doesn't seem to work with this mouse. It conflicts with the Razer software and gives odd results in tracking. This is a disappointment for someone who has used mouse acceleration ever since Windows 95. It gives me both a slow cursor at low speeds for accuracy, and a high speed cursor when I move it faster to get around quick. Since you have to disable acceleration, if you are using a larger monitor and need a high speed cursor to cover the area it will be too fast at low speeds to be accurate. I find myself overshooting all my buttons. I hope I will get used to it, but I see it as a major disadvantage for me. How else would one get both low and high sensitivity at the same time?
Another thing is: its corded. I don't like cords but I had to have the fastest mouse so I will live with it. The reason I don't like them - the mouse is really light, and the feet are very slick, much slicker than Logitech mice. The cord tension can move the mouse after you have let go. It is hard to explain but you have probably experienced it.
With it I got their eXactMat with the memory foam wrist rest. Its a great combo and looks awesome on the desk. The mat is metal though and gets really cold to the touch - not a problem with the wrist rest but I may not use it with this desk because of the position.
I will need some more time to get acquainted ;). If you have any questions about either of these items ask away, I don't see much talk about them and I don't think a lot of people have gotten theirs yet. Either that or they are too attached to their Logitech, who also makes a decent mouse.
