I clicked on the my computer icon yesterday and noticed that the icon for one of my hard drives had changed to a different icon. It is the one that is like a piece of paper with the corner folded slightly and has another picture of a screen or whatever. It is the one you get when your computer doesn't know how to read it. It still opens fine but how do I change it to its original icon? I have xp pro.

make an autorun.inf file with following text:
[autorun]
icon=whatever.ico
place it in the main directory of the drive along with any icon named "whatever.ico", make the file and icon hidden, system and archived, and on the next boot it will show that icon. It doesn't have to be the original icon; perhaps you'd want to change it to something you like (I have my media drive with a CD icon, storage with zip file icon and so on).

There was an autorun file in there so I deleted it and restarted my computer and now it works. Why did that happen?
