performance same :D
03/26 Bios problem
The Memory the Clock above 550@1100(2:3 4:5) is impossible

question how much clearance room is there between your tuniq and the nb heatsink on that dfi board? enough to squeeze a small 40 or 50mm fan in there?

Interesting result, nice run :) .

fark me DFI is REALLY fast in SPI :slobber:
that bios RAM speed limitation is NOT good :(

Any way you can throw a couple PCI-E cards in both the boards and retest?? Like to see the results, without a pci vid card...

1s difference... uhmmm.
How did u find the DFI btw? is the board rock solid?

I believe that it's more than bios problem- the same thing with Abit quadGT- max what I have seen on quadGT is 1180! I think its because of strap 1066! So if there wont be strap 1333 in newer bioes we wont see higher clocks on mem! :(

no such problem with asus commando
long catch, but try to disable every peripherial except the essenstial ones,
(disable USB/LAN/AUDIO)... i think it worked somehow for me on the asus commando

lol what's max FSB on that commando using strap 1066? Is it 500+? :D
as expected from the late dfi mobo :)
now i can convince myself to update to C2D

i don't have a screenshot handy, but its around 550Mhz
So, based on what I've read (not personal experience), does this sum up current mainstream chipsets:
975: fastest clock-for-clock (esp 1:1 memory), but low fsb ceiling
965: maximum fsb, but most boards run on slower strap at higher speeds
965 (1066) (DFI/QuadGT): faster clock-for-clock than other 965 at higher fsb rates, but lower memory bandwidth ceiling limits top speed
680i: high fsb (but not as high as 965), fastest extreme cooling potential due to unlinked memory, SLI for top 3D performance, but expensive, and can be a bit buggy

Yeah right! :D
max FSB using strap 1066 on commando is same as P5B dlx- 450-470!
Of course most of you are reaching 500+ on commando but it switches to strap 1333 after FSB 450-470! ;)

not if you boot @400 and clockgen to 500+

ooops im sorry, my mistake :D not so much coffee today :D
yes the 550MHz is with 1333 strap, in that case booting above 400Mhz
with 1066 strap ill have to double check
but the memory overclock is great with 2:3 and 1066 strap, i can do more than DDR1300 with 5-4-4-6
and not at 3xxx but at 5100Mhz
the only bad thing is that i think i lost some cpu overclock (100-150mhz) with 965 compared to 975
