Hi there folks, first post here on XS so please forgive me if this post has gone to the wrong section.

Hope anyone can help. i'm having problems booting from a LSI 21320 scsi card on my DFI 975x/g motherboard :( . during xp setup, i press F6 to install drivers for the card, the scsi hard drives are detected ok, windows installs ok. but when the system reboots to completing setup, i get a boot disk failure. the scsi card & drives, i know for a fact work perfectly as i just tried them on a different motherboard, and everything works ok.

with previosus motherboards i've used, when using a scsi card, its normally detected in the bios startup screen and in turn, the devices that are connected in to it are listed. but with the dfi 975x, no card is shown in the bios startup screen

could there be a setting a bios i'm missing? (although bootable add-in card is selected in the bios)

help!!!!!!!!!!

F8 while booting up, and select the hard drive to boot from manually.

if that doesnt work, then something is definatly wrong.

thanks for quick response Kunaak. have tried the F8 method as stated above, but no success. something must be wrong with the board! very very strange.:(

run the windows setup when there is only one drive (the scsi) in the system, and have that manually selected to be the first boot device (f9 to boot to cd) in bios. add your other drives later.

Thanks for responding cirthix. tried your above method, and still no success. i'm starting 2 wonder whether its just an issue with the bios. i have flashed 2 the latest bios though. have always used DFI motherboards with scsi cards, but this motherboard is stubborn as hell!!

i've posted this problem on the DFI forums, so if i get a fix i shall post it here in case someone else is experiencing the same issues!

will await to hear from anyone else with any ideas!
