I started FAH on Friday and I have had two EARLY_END units so far. I overclock but not a lot and memtest is always stable. I haven't had a bluescreen on this box for months. I tried running 4 instances from seperate directories with 4 different machine ID's and got two early ends after about six hours of folding.

Any ideas?

Well, I have processed 14 units and not one completed. If I dont do anything on my PC it seems to work fine but if I play any video or otherwise upset the CPU to much it gets an error. Something is seriously wrong with the folding software. I can run BOINC all day which runs FFT's. Sure, the folding sims are probably much more complex but they need to slow it down a bit and make it more robust or something I think.

I guess I will just fold at night :-)

Hi and welcome :welcome:

Is this the CPU client or the GPU client you are running? If it is the CPU client, shutdown FAH for a bit, download orthos (http://sp2004.fre3.com/beta/beta2.htm) and run that overnight to see if your overclock is indeed fully stable. I had my opteron at 3GHz (suicide shot, didn't work on getting it stable because my cooler couldn't handle it) and the system ran fine, ran benchmarks, but orthos would error out after a minute. I actually got a slightly higher CPU score in the benchmark after declocking to my known stable clock, probably because there weren't as many errors. My guess is your system is doing the same. Windows stable but not stress stable. Most of us run FAH all the time, night or day, movies or games, doesn't matter.

If it is the GPU client, what graphics card and drivers are you using?

I am running the Windows client in console mode. I will try Orthos but over at the FAH boards, a lot of people seem to be Orthos stable but not FAH stable.

I dunno why but I had that turned off. Orthos would run 2 instances fine but not 4 with that off. Thats probably why two instances would seemingly run ok but 4 would fail or when I ran 2 instances and did some other work it would fail. I seem to be more stable now with EPS turned on I will try FAH again. Sorry to all you folks who will get my whack of terminated WU's!

I've heard something about EPS, forgot about it though. My guess is with that set now you should be fine now.

Well, going back to Orthos helped out. I will remember to run that from now on whenever I monkey with anything.

without EPS my system freaks out at stock speed :/

I can OC it and it will run fine for weeks, then I reboot and it will freak out (ie. start throwing errors at me and running hotter than it did before the reboot) then I will reboot again and again and all of a sudden it will run fine again until next reboot... my hardware is so temperamental i don't know what to think :(

I blame my badaxe tho - i think i got a serious monday version, because it has been acting out since day one.

For now i am running stock speeds with EPS and just enjoying stability for a change :D

anyhow, EPS is deffo the way to go :)

Been running for five hours now at 3333 1.375 volts. Hope to finish the first 4 units tommorow some time.
