Well, since my 8800GTS is coming in a few days....no ;) I will, however, get another 8800GTS upon the release of crysis :) I'm off ATI for good, if all goes according to plan...I liked em on AGP...but something about AMD + ATI = :( for me.

I have to agree. Ever since AMD acquired ATI the whole brand identity has been fouled up. I'm not sure but it's as if AMD is trying to walk their processor line up ATI's reputation or something. They've certainly made it point to draw attention to their acquisition of ATI.

I used to like ATI's website, information was easy to find and they were very forthcoming with news and information. But now that AMD has rearranged it and stamped their brand all over it I hate to go there. The site is effectively useless.

I won't even beat the dead horse over the R600 delays other than to say that I interpret it as a troublesome market indicator. I don't know what AMD/ATI/DAAMIT is doing but I've certainly lost faith in them on the whole. I am no longer recommending their products and I will not until I see some sense of competitiveness and stability from them.

This would depend on the performance numbers of R600. I currently run a 8800GTS 640mb and it really does do anything I want, as fast as I want. However if the R600 is in any way momentously faster, then I may flog off my 8800 before it loses any more value and then make the transition.

Although in saying this, the purported power consumption figures are a bit....silly.

Iam very impressed with the performance of my 8800GTX, but im still not keen on the drivers, i want the old control panel back, and some drivers released more often that 4 months!

If the R600 is awesome, i might think about getting one, but i doubt it will beat G80 by much, and im sure it will have driver problems as well, being a brand new arcitecture.

So basically i doubt ill get one. This thread is a bit daft, as we have no idea how good R600 is......:slapass:
