i have actually four questions for you guys:
1. has any tried the new 1.4 bios for the msi neo fis2r? is this board even worth taking a shot with or should i stick with abit?
2. what ram should i get to try to run a FSB of 300 give or take at 5:4 divider with low timings(ddr480+ with low timings)
3. where is the best place to buy a new p4c that OCs outta thru the roof?
4. should i get a diff board? i need a board that is goin to be stable at 300+ fsb not taking cpu's limits or rams limits into consideration
thanks for all yourhelp guys... ive been looking around at all the OCign forums lately and a friend sent me here a few days ago and it is by far the best forum ive been to so far so i figure if anybody can answer my questions correctly its you guys... thanks!

Welcome to Xtreme forums kevdogg !!! Glad to see ya here !;)
I think the Asus P4C800 is king of the hill for the time being. Alot of folks have got some really high fsb out of it.

cool, does anyone know how the IDE RAID is performing on that board... also, i am heavily considering the P4P800, cuz im not looking to blow away all other scores, just want a nice system stable at 300+ fsb with slk900 or wcing....

P4P800 would be an excellent choice.

argh, need to decide what motherboard to get.. is your P4P800 treating you good op? it isnt hindering your overclock you dont think?
if not this board is mine.

Taco,
The P4P is a great overclocker, probably one of the best out there.

Whoa...wait. OPP, I thought you said all your other boards beat the P4P, performance-wise? Like specifically, your MSI at 275 beat your P4P at 279 and such?

Performance as far as benches yes, not in overall CPU Overclock though. The P4P is a great overclocker, better then this IC7 I'm useing right now.

im pretty convinced.. ;) P4P for me :D
i had a P4PE and the voltage really jumped alot, is it the same with this one too? i swore i'd never touch an asus again, but i cant resist this kind of goodness.
also for mods, are they the same as the P4C.. i think ive asked this somewhere else, but i just wanna check.

actually i think im goin to wait for some more news on the epox 4pca3+(right call name) anywho, it looks very promising!
Be really careful with the P4P. I've heard back from 4 different people that couldn't overclock past 260 with the new BIOS (which happens to be the one that performs good...like that crap at Tom's).
In my opinion, the P4P is a gimmiky joke of a board.
Get an 875P.
I guess the board isn't that good after all:

I'm leaning towards Zroc's way of thinking now. A buddy of mine just tried the P4P and has difficulty hitting even 270fsb with the new 1007 BIOS. Using his original BIOS 1006, and disabling the Memory Acceleration Mode, he can hit a FSB of 292 no sweat. We think higher would be possible, but his 2.4C maxes out there with his cooling.
I found this to be surrprising because I thought P4P performance dropped under overclocked conditions falling more in line with other 865 based boards. I thought that this was indicating that Asus' PAT implementation on the P4P was disabling itself when over clocked. Obviously this may not the case.
The P4P is an excellent board indeed, which my buddy plans to keep. But for maximum overclocked performance I'd be leaning towards a real 875 based board. The P4C would be the better board IMOHO.

boogotop is the ic7 newer or older(whats pack date) and same for your chip? ram divider 3:2 or 5:4? thanks!

whoops, lol one more thing.... what kinda cooling? thanks again!
hmm, i just looked into that.. kinda weird that it dosnt sport the ICH5R.
that may be the reason for it being better then some other boards. maybe the ICH5R has somthing effect on the overclocking ability...? who knows.

doesn't make a diff cuz the non dlx ocs just as well and it does have the ich5r
