Hello,

I can get my hands on an XFX 8800GTX for around 270 dollars. Convince me that it's worth it. I've never spent over 200 dollars on a graphics card before. I need comfort, lol.

Buy it and if you don't personally feel like it is worth it, sell it on Ebay and make some good profit.
For some users it is worth it and for others it isn't worth it.

I'm afraid at that price members here will be less likely to convince you to buy it for yourself :p

Some will say it is a scam and others will feel jealous however if you can hold the card before paying for it then get it and make sure that this is a verified seller

For that price it's a real bargain, but be sure that you're not being scammed.

yeah. I set up a meeting with this guy to buy it tomorrow (in person) at Intel jones farm :) safe and secure place.

270 dollars seems like there's gotta be something wrong with it, but XFX has double life time warantee right? So I'll probably run down the card for any physical damage, and if there isn't any, I'll buy it =). If ther'es no post, I'll start by removing hard drives to eliminate any power problems, recheck the cable inserts into the card, and if worse goes to worst, I'll RMA the card to XFX. I've heard they've got good service. I've got this all planned out now, spent 4 hrs just trying to calm myself and figure out how to handle the situation if something screws up since 270 is a lot of money... even if the MSRP of the card is around 600.

My system's going to bottleneck this card like a mofo (the one in my sig, + 2gb of Adata Vitesta DDR2 800 and maybe a biostar 965PT soon), but we'll see how well it runs (hopefully, it will). It'll still be a better performer than my 7600GT.

And, if the cards fails...and its already been RMA'd ? You're screwd...right?

Very true I'd call in the serial # to XFX once you get your hands on it.

hmm.... so if you RMA the card once... you can't RMA again? What happened to life time warantee?

you can RMA it as much as you like (depending on brand)

I'm assuming XFX has a good warantee with double-lifetime and all.

I'll check XFX on that. Good suggestion. This guy says he's never used this card, only taken it out occasionally to drool at it, but it wouldn't hurt to check.

lol. That guy has to be one of the dumbest guys I've ever seen. And they say asians like me can't drive....

Anyway, he could just have had a case which was too small to fit the 8800GTX in *hopes*

I would say...get a hold on that card...and call XFX right there....ask for that card in particular ´(Serial number)

And then...if everything goes ok...be a happy 8 series user.

DO NOT LEAVE THE SELLERS HOUSE/BUSSINESS...or you´ll be screwd.

Victor.

you jinxed it. lol. The guy called me before he left and told me it was a 640MB GTS so I declined. If it's a GTS for 270, I'll just wait till the 89's hit the floor and drop the GTS price. :)

oh well, I haven't lost a penny :p: I now get to push my motherboard and RAM budgets up a little :)
