Anyone recommend a nice color printer in the $400 range (give or take)? Looking for longevity. Every printer I have owned has turned into a PoS about a week after the warranty expired.

I'd recommend Brother. Flawless, dependable printers starting from $50 to $500...and the BEST thing of all is after going through canons, lexmarks, and tons of HP printers, this has the MOST hassle-free ink usage/replacement solution...its so easy and dependable...the ink will never leak or do weird things EVEN ONCE !!

Here's the one I'd recommend: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16828113082

There's a combo on newegg (on the above product page) where u get the printer and 1 extra cartridge of each type of ink for $250 :)

I've been having pretty good luck with my HP 7410xi I think. It works great, but it is kind of big. Brother makes some great products, and I can recommend them as well.

Just a printer, or a multifunction?

Here is what I got...more than satisfied with it.

You don't need to spend close to $500 on a printer. These Canons are the #1 multifunctions right now.
