Somebody fill me in here. Using the Supreme Commander built in benchmark, this review, using Vista x64, 7900GTX, and various CPUs generates these scores:
http://techreport.com/reviews/2007q1/cpus/index.x?pg=4
Command line option used was /map perftest /nosound, at 1024x768 with default quality settings.
Now with a Sempron 2800+ @ 2.64GHz, XP Pro SP2 and 8800GTS, same 1024x768 default settings, I got these scores (w/SupCom 3220 update):
SupComMark (sim) : 8637
SupComMark (render) : 7558
SupComMark (composite) : 16195
FPS: min 7.21, max 71.71, avg 40.910
According to the review linked above, my sim score is in between a E6300 and E6400, render score is ahead of QX6700 (much better GPU though, so to be expected), FPS is close to E6600 w/7900GTX.
I was expecting much lower scores (like half, in the 8000s for composite), since the game is slow, but playable. I thought SupCom was supposed to be optimized for dual core, and even better on quad core (and this review (http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTMwNiwxLCxoZW50aHVzaWFzdA==) backs up my actual gameplay experience) so I guess as a benchmark, even for its own gameplay, it doesn't scale that well at all. Thoughts?
