Hi all,
I have a realy bizzare problem here and am realy hopeing someone can help as I am totaly lost.. never seen anything happen like this before.
All text in Windows(windows, menubar text etc) and in games has a horrible shimmer/screen door style effect when windows are moved around. I can say for certain that this was not happening before 5am this morning before i went to bed but when i went to use the system again later on in the day this issue showed up with no explanation.
The only thing I had done that was not usual was changeing the directdraw refreshrate override setting in dxdiag to solve an issue with a game. changeing this back to default hasnt solved the problem however ..
I have tweaked around with resolutions/refresh rates/DVI and scaleing settings and also cleartype settings with no effect, athough turning cleartype on apears to make the issue less noticable(the effect of which is negated in games odvisly) however prior to this issue showing up i had it turned off with no problems up untill this point.
Also I have tested the display on a Intel Mac Mini, and the issue isnt present there so i doubt its a physical problem with the display.
Have spoken to Samsung support but no luck. And dont have another DVI capable display to test with.
Display is a Samsung 215TW and video card is an ATI 1900XT w/ latest Cats .. powerstrip is also installed.
Anyone have any ideas ?
