H I !

THIS HAS TO BE TRUE N00BY:

Low level Question:
When you want to go oc'ng P42.4C on IC7-board,
what is that code when you go change the "by SPD"(or smthng) setting both in cpu settings and memory settings.
At initial entry to those settings it gives me a blank area for 4-6 characters to be entered. Don't remember the fieldname, but I couldn't come up with any reasonable answer and did enter none. It apparently unlocks these parameters like busspeed or multipliers and so on.

Instant answer is MORE THAN WELCOME !

Have I got the only IC-7&P4 with this feature ? I haven't seen any thread considering this issue.

no you cannot unlock your p4, the entry field you're talking about is probably your FSB.
goto chipset option and disable SPD to change the mem timings, you probably need later bios to do that.

and welcome to xtremesystems FamilyMan :toast:

T H A N K S for the warm welcome !

I'll bring the buckett here to work tomorrow and start shaking it. Lucky I can do it here, too. This is the start of an new era. :p

IC-7 BIOS was 1.1 as I can recall it...must check.

Antec Piano Black,
Abit IC7
P4 2.4C
Kingston Hyper-X 3500 CL2
Sapphire Rad9500
***Yet all virgin stuff...***

Darker side calling ? What possibly can I do with them ? Any ideas for a newcomer ?

Anyway - thank you for your kind attitude ! :D

This one came out by itself. IT WAS the DEC it demanded and this little dummie did not understand the context... shamed.... I promise to RTFM before the next issue.

Btw - POST went to 1.2 GHz P4 proc. when I lifted the FSB to 250 ! It also declined to boot any further. Claimed to have proc. exchanged... otherwise with default BIOS settings.

There must be the way to tune this one...

If you are thinking about oc'ing with this case, get 120mm fan right behind HDD cage to increase airflow inside case. The case is looker and quiet but not good for keeping things cool inside without the extra fan.
