Is it possible to do a vdd mod on the ic7. I saw so many people taking screenies with 300fsb+ but mine won't even boot into windows over 280. I've tried relaxed timings, 3:2 ratio, upping the vcore but no change.

macci said that the vdd mod offered no improvement in fsb OC.

I would suggest improving the cooling on the nb first. I think most people with really high fsb either are using water on the nb, a peliter or at least some sort of active hs on the nb other than the factory one. You might try just removing the factory hs and replacing the TIM with some AS3 or equivalent, that should help alittle.

I'm running stock cooling on the NB with the only change being Arctic Silver 3 applied. In my Prommy the 2.8c with HyperX PC3500 installed and a mem mod feeding 3.3v with do 291Mhz FSB 5:4 with max timings. I'll be posting screenies of benches sometime soon.

I think the key with some ram is feeding it enough voltage to be able to handle the timings when running high FSB. The other consideration is that some boards and or CPU's have limits. My IC7 is a very late production board and already had the 13 bios installed.:)

I tried with the Zalman northbridge cooler and a amd oem cooler both with as3 and active cooled, but no change getting it any higher.
Also both cooler aren't really getting warm on full load.

MrIcee did you also do the mod on the r50 resistor to get 3,3volts, on mine it tops out at around 3volts, even if I set the vr to 400ohms.

I use two 512mb Twinmos/winbond bh-5 they do 270 at 5:4, 3v and low timings all day. But ragardless of the timings no change of getting 273 stable

Yea, how do you get 3.3V for the mem MrIcee? :)

Mine starts major voltage flucuation at 2.96 V

my first board ran 3.3 perfectly stable as well... my second one will start to jump like hell if I pass 3.10 volts, and it will refuse to POST with the mod enabled from cold boot... reboots/resets are OK but cold booting needs mod disabled :(

291 at 5:4 max timings? NICE MrIcee! Can't wait for those screenies ;)

Hey, macci's been getting really significant gains on every 875P he's pelted the northbridge on (more than 10 FSB jumps). Might be worth looking into, as it seems to help a ton.

I'm using the stock cooler on my NB and hitting 300FSB :D

Thing is though is I'm pretty sure its getting to hot because it wouldn't pass prime 95 @ 300fsb when I 1st went at it...but I put some Artic Alumina on the NB and it passes prime 95 now :) BUT after about 2-3 hours of intense gaming it will BSOD and reboot...Needs better cooling.

I wana pelt cool it with a MCW50-T and use some artic Alumina epoxy but am not sure if it will stick to that little chip...anyone tried it yet?

I think Major Slaughter is just water cooling his NB with a Swifty block, but I do believe he AS epoxied it on and it seems to be holding. You might try pm'ing him to make sure.

Just a quick question, I did FUGGER's Vdimm mod for a friend and would like to know if the two mosfets located either side of R50 are measuring points for Vdimm ?

TIA.

If somebody like macci has done the vdd mod please post it, I just want to try it on my board.
