After watching all the pics from CEBIT this past week and wishing I was there to meet all these good people my little mind came up with an idea.
CES 2008 in Las Vegas. How about a big gettogether of the guys here?
I figured that if we planned far enough ahead maybe we can set aside the $$ for the trip.
CES is 4 days,January 7-10,2008

That was a tease. Do you have any idea what it would cost to fly and house 100+ to Hong Kong? B.Gates would have to cover the bill for that deal.

I shut my main one down at night as it's in my room, loud and kicks out a lot of heat. ;) Although I could run it on my mom's X2 3600+ (yup, I upgraded it), my old Athlon MP 1400 and a couple P4 Dells I have sitting in the garage, one with a bad mobo and one with a bad HDD and dead CMOS battery.

Not knowing the exact specs you got on each I would say with what you listed and your main rig 75% of the time you would be looking at 8k + a day easy. What is the P4 skt and maybe one of us has one sitting here. I have battery's and a few old parts. No HD's though.

Yes this is the fun side of XS. Most of the other sections is all business with a touch of fun mixed in. We some times get some business talked over but not very often :toast:

Well one of the P4s isn't a Dell, actually. I thought they both were but I haven't touched 'em in a year or more. One is a socket 478 P4 2.4B Northwood with 2x512MB RAM (generic) and an ASRock P4VM890 (the one I swapped out the mobo in), a 330w PSU (Antec I believe) and onboard video.

The second P4 is the one with the bad mobo (some Dell board), and I'm not too sure on using the same case for a new mobo. I used this case I had lying around for my dual P3 machine and Intel STL2, 1GB ECC RAM, etc. I can pick one up for nothing, I'm sure, but I do need a working IDE drive (used my new Seagate in the P3 machine), a mobo, and I've got the CMOS battery covered.

I do have a bit of excess, but there is a good deal of muscle, I assure you. ;) I need to work out routinely this summer in the garage like I used to. I'm a pretty big guy in general. Big frame, that is. I wear a 46 chest in jackets, a 17 1/2" neck size in dress shirts, 35" sleeve length, broad shoulders, etc.

No. You can get nasty vibrations back along a crowbar into your hand if you hit the ground by accident.

Lead pipes absorb the vibrations better because they are more maleable and are a denser material. When/if you score the skin also there is a better chance of blood poisining for the 'bully' than with the crowbar.

My excercise is biking to and from school, and to other places every week, which totals about 20 miles per week. Not too bad, but the amount of crap I eat definitely outweighs it by a s***load. In fact, at summer camp I drank 1 GALLON of root beer a day (it was at stanford university) and the cafeteria stuff sucked but I still ate S***loads of it. People were like [gasp] :eek: They were like "dude you eat like 4500 calories a day but you're not fat, I eat like 2000 and I'm fatter!".
