I would get the Brisbane, seems to be overclocking better and will run cooler.

What can I expect to hit HTT wise on a 3600+ with a DFI ultra infinity?

hmmm

How about the 4000+ brisbane?

i'm in Australia btw

my options are 3600+ brisbane $110, 4000+ brisbane $176, 4200+ windsor $143.

What one is recommended.

My budget is $400 and I'm spending $100 on 1GB kingston value and $127 on the DFI Ininity ultra

I've got my 3600+ brisbane to 2.8ghz with minimal efforts. I would go for the the cheapest option.

Yea there is not good reason to spend the extra cash, they will all overclock similarly.

Careful with the infinity board. The stock bios doesn't recognize the 65nm chips. You either have to swap a 90nm core in to flash the bios, or have DFI send you an updated BIOS chip. Granted I've heard wonderful things about the board, but it is a bit of an inconvenience. I bought a 3600+, the dfi infinity nf ultraii-m2 and 2gbs corsair xms 6400c4 and its just sitting on the dresser since im currently waiting for a response from DFI or I'm going to end up ordering some $50 sempron to flash the bios then return it lol.

Best of luck,
Zen

Got my 3600+ today.

Problem is CPU-Z says it's a windsor.

I thought the only 3600+ is a brisbane core

It's also running at 31-34 degrees which is bad isn't it?

Err, how much cache does it have? There is a Windsor 3600+ but it only has 2x256k cache, is this CPU-Z 1.39?

ILLaViTaR

Yeah 2*256

I think I'm using 1.38

that's a cpu z screenshot.

It has a 10x multi over the brisbanes 9.5 though

Ah that kinda sucks, hopefully it clocks well.

ILLaViTaR

It might be better.

10 multi ftw

the 4000+ brissy seems to be binned a bit quciker and OC a tiny bit better than what most others are getting (from my exp)

..but it's a bit too expensive. The 3600+ is much better value.

-just realised it's a bit irrelevent now haha.

interested to hear what you get out of the windsor as a comparison :)

YEAH atm it doesn't go past 210.

can't wait for my dfi

I would go for the higher multiplier but on subzero cooling mostly my htt board limit or cb stops me :p:

TF-550 for sure :D

I agree, definitely the bang for buck champ imho, especially if in the US, Newegg has been running sick combo deals with the TF550 and X2 3600+ Brisbane, a couple days ago the combo was $124 AR.
